Then I stopped. I thought of this thread. I though that I must be nuts if I can't enjoy a HUGE Bears win like this, for even 10 minutes, before worrying again.
This is a "Bears fan thing" I think. We've had so many disappointments over the years, that it's not easy for us to simply relax and enjoy a season. Maybe it's even a Chicago sports thing too. I'm a Cubs fan too (don't laugh) and it's been heartbreaking. Like the Bartman fan interference play. Stuff just comes out of nowhere to hit you as a fan.
I'm going to try and do better this season. To simply enjoy it. I probably need a support group for this season
EDIT:
Hah! It just occurred to me that YOU guys are my support group. You guys are just as crazy as I am about the Bears.

I'm glad you dig what I'm shovelin' here JABF. Now lets get this list going!
I am betting you that 4th & 26 and Bearsinhuston have some good witty items for this list (yes thats a challenge). Lets get it started!!!

So to make up for it I'm starting a list of everything I love about the bears or enjoyed watching or just anything positive associated with the franchise over the last 20 years.
OK, here goes. This is in no particular order of importance:
I like the rich history of the franchise. No other franchise in the NFL has such an incredible history. It's so incredible that there have been countless books written about the Bears.....even movies (like "Brian's Song").
I like that we have more Hall of Fame players than any franchise in the NFL (30 so far).
I like how the franchise has had a stellar defense so many years. I've grown to love a great defense.
I really like Soldier Field's history. I'm glad we still play outdoors and on grass. It's the way the game was meant to be played. BTW, for the Panther's game, the field looked like it was in the best shape I've seen in recent years.
I like that we have a classy franchise. Our players, overall, are great on-and-off the field. The guys are heavily involved in the community, helping people in many ways. Lovie is a big part of this. While other franchises are always reeling with their players in the spotlight (and sometimes coaches) for committing crimes and scandals, we don't have so much of that (sometimes, but not too often).
Bears fans are the best in the world (like Cutler said yesterday). They're never lukewarm about the team. They're pretty crazy, and I like that. And they're everywhere. Away games always have a good representation of Bears fans come to the games. It's great.

My favorite memories - post 1985 - (prior to 85 I have to think too hard, "sometimers" is setting in deeply)
Corey Wootton's 1st sack caused Bertt Farve to retire. Permanently.
Mike Brown's two game-winning OT pick-6's in a row.
Mike Singletary's eyes. And his hits.
Briggs/Tillman double pick-6's two weeks in a row
The day we signed Cutler
The day we signed Peppers
The day we fired Wanny
The day we fired Jarhead
As mentioned, the AZ Crown Their Asses game (just the last quarter) & the Hester Superbowl return
Hester's put the opposition to sleep then return it TD
Hester's record setting return (well, really all of his TD returns)
Sunday in Nashville setting an NFL first - rushing/passing/pick 6/blocked punt TD all in 1 quarter
Tractor Traylor lumbering down the field trying to handoff a fumble recovery
Cutler TD bomb to Alshon Jeffrey

LOL great list Shark! Thanks for your input. I'm going to wait a while and compile what you, JABF, myself, and others have contributed. I'll list them in a new post next monday.
Remember, they don't have to be famous moments or moments anyone else remembers, just your favorite moments. An example of this would be the joey Harrington thing i posted, not a great moment in the franchise, just one that tickled me to death.
Be as specific as possible with it!
The only other criteria is that it should be post 1990. We already have a lot of posts glorifying the old days, we are trying to start a new chapter of legend and lore here.
Thanks for your input and GO BEARS!!!!.

I'm thankful that:
1) Major Wright has finally memorized our uniforms and seems to be targeting the other teams players more than ours
2) Peanut is playing lights out
3) Jennings is seeing if he can turn out the lights faster than Peanut
4) That our DL is playing at the level they are. The DL play was a concern for me before the season started
5) Webb has a tee-shirt empire to fall back on since he is feared more by all-you-can-eat owners than opposing DE's
6) Webb thought it was more funny than insulting that Cutler thoroughly insulted him on national television or Cutler would still be in traction
7) That Jay "I only have eyes for you" Cutler and Brandon Marshall is still successful even though everyone knows where the ball is going
8) That we have only had to see a picture of Webb's post-taco-night toilet one time only. (as impressive a visual display as it was)
9) Tice has appeared to have stopped playing the "Where am I going to move these guys to this week" game.
10) Cutler still seems to be able to hit anyone on the field in virtually any situation given the time
11) Lovies huge physical presence and enthusiam on the sidelines during game time has not caused sensory overload for the players

Bump this thread guys, come on lets get your lists

I smelled at least a couple roses last night...
Tim Jennings with two more interceptions. Guy has really stepped up this year.
Urlacher looks to be getting much better from game to game.
Melton is in beast mode.

This is the best dline I can remember in recent years. Melton is incredible. Our entire secondary is amazing too.
