It cannot last, but this Bears D is doing outrageously well. They've give up 5 TDs and scored 5. Hmmm, wonder how they'd do if they actually started with possession, lol. That is all.

    Amazing statistics, both of them.

I don't believe that they can keep up the pace but a few more and I would suspect that they would be closing in on a record. I was looking for the record but the one I could find not verified is 2002 Tampa with 9 touchdowns on D.

Woooda thunk it? We had a real revamp of the O this off-season. Our pass rush really was not that good. We were not getting real pressure on anyone last year. Our top pick that was brought in to fix that was not really making a huge difference in the preseason. Urlacher's knee presented itself as a problem. We really had liitle strength at S and only Peanut to brag about in the secondary.

Not really many reasons to think the D was going to light it up, and yet here we are ----- once again the D id leading the O. Beyond any logic, they are one of the top defenses in the league! Don't you love it it when a plan comes together? LOL

I'm with you completely, Houston. Like so many, I had hopes that the offense would really click, while I kind of hoped the defense would stay almost as good as last year (Url, Pep, Briggs, Tillman all aging a little, ... I kind of just hoped they had another good/great year). With Urlacher's injury and watching the sad performance of Roach against the run in preseason I started to hold my breath about the D. Then given that you can actually see Urlacher limping on the field, what chance can there be? te he. Six good to great rushers on the DL, no need to blitz; Briggs, Tillman, Peppers playing at their peak; Conte playing a classic single high FS, sure tackler, nobody gets behind him, just the guy for a bend-don't-break D; and drum roll, Jenning getting a richly deserved NFC D player of the month. I'd still be holding my breath but .... beautiful to watch. Can they keep it up?
