I'd be all for it, at the right price. I think Cutler will be had for a not-so-crazy amount for a franchise QB, and as much as we need one, I doubt we find a premier Olineman in FA. If the right one falls to us in the draft, however...

Yes, I say we trade up to whatever position we think will be necessary to draft this kid. Until Urlacher is ready to call it a career, we can put him in at LOLB. Then, we'd probably have the best linebacking corps in the league. But then again, that leaves you with another problem: what do you do to replace the LOLB position when Urlacher retires and Teo assumes his position? Free agency, or pick someone in the draft in the second or third rounds in the future?

I think there are much bigger issues on the oline that need to be addressed before the bears take a LB. positions that are more pressing of a need than LB include: LT, RG, LG, TE, QB, WR, and S. Dont get me wrong, the bears could use a LB to replace Urlacher, but it shouldnt be their main concern right now.

I don't see us being able to move up into the "immediate stud difference maker" aka top 10 to 12 players because I just don't think we will be drafting that high and we still have too many needs for Emery to trade a lot of picks to move to head of the line for the guys we really want. I think until more holes get filled, we will have to be relying on FA more than we would want. I think he will be out of range for us.

Yeah, I just checked Scout.com and they have him #8 overall in the draft. I don't know how we'd swing that one.

Isn't Te'o supposed to be the best MLB of this group? Who else is projected to go high

A Bama backer, I think. But nobody goes anywhere near as high as Te'o according to the experts right now.

how can you trade up to get him, he will be a top 10 if not a top 5 pick

I agree. I don't see how we could get him. Guys like Urlacher and Butkus were top 10 picks. We did get Singletary in the 2nd round. Maybe we can get lucky again like that.
