Didn't we get it back b/c that DT didn't make the team? I believe it was conditional.

If anyone had any illusions that we could still get Te'o without trading the farm for him, put those thoughts to rest after last night. It's going to be painful to see him go to another team, but I'll manage, as long as it's not the Lions or Pack.
Eifert has a good pedigree now, and he's definitely one of the top tight ends in the country. However, I'll defer to sox on this one. If he says we should get the Sims guy, we should go after him.

Wouldn't pull a ditka for him but if you can reach a bit for him it would be worth the cost.
If he's a top ten or even a top fifteen pick we'll never get him. From late in the first that's not just a bit of a reach it's a trade away half your draft move or future high picks and IMO not worth it for one player no matter who he is.
At least we know that Urlachers knee issue is not a deteriorating condition. It won't get any better but it won't keep getting worse either. Provided he wants to he can probably play another two years after this one which is time enough for us to find and train his successor for the middle. Play the rookie at SLB next year and begin a transition in 2014 to MLB in the preseason and maybe giving Urlacher some relief during the season if he'll allow it.
The thing with Urlacher is that you pretty much have to let him decide when it's time for him to go and I think when he's ready he'll do that. I don't see him hanging on past the point where he can do it all anymore. That just hurts his HOF rep and that's something he'll want eventually.
I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.
