All I can tell you is that I can't be there so I'll be sitting at home drinking my Point Special to wash down my Jim Beam and homemade Italian Beef that you mentioned in another thread.

I'll be just watching the game over a bowl of popcorn or some chips and some Cokes. I don't drink alcohol because of the medication I take, so Coke is the next best thing.

I will drink ice cold milk with some toast with cheese on. Bears before going to school, fuck ye!

I think it's funny that ESPN's only real claim for the Lions to win is that they kick it into high gear when they're behind. John Clayton, Kevin Seifert, they were playing the god damn Eagles last week; Michael Vick is worse than Donovan McNabb at this point, and that comeback victory wasn't really all that special. I still think Calvin Johnson's gonna do a bit of damage (our CB's are playing great, but I doubt Peppers is gonna strip the ball again with one arm), although he's dropped a few in the end zone this year. I believe wholeheartedly this is a W for us; the Lions are constantly flagged for penalties this year, and if they play this week as they did last week, it's gonna be ugly for them.

It's a big game and one we should win. Those are the kind that always concern me since that's just about the time they usually step on their dicks and have a bad game.
I'm hoping the week off has a positive affect and not a negative one. If it gives some of the guys a chance to heal and come back at full speed it's a good thing. Pep needed a little break and he's due for a big game.
If the DLine can get it's share of pressure and hits on Stafford we should do well. The OLine has improved a little each week and if we can move on the ground we can provide enough balance that they shouldn't be able to just tee off on Cutler.
The Lions have been late game scorers so we have to play 60 minutes of football and not just relax if we get a lead. Good coaching, preparation and execution win.
I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.

With Detroit's d-line capable of doing some damage, i'm inclined to forgive them a slow start, HOWEVER, if they don't start being consistent in both halves starting with the Titans game, i'm gonna go ahead and say that will be our downfall. Then again, I'd take how our offense is performing with our defense, as opposed to the Patriots defense and their offense..

I'm not too worried about our line. Maybe it's just me, but I see the interior of Detroit's D Line being stronger than the outside. Webb should hold it up against Vander Douche, and Carimi might struggle a little against Avril, but if we can get some help over to him every once in a while, then he should be just fine. I expect Louis to be very solid tonight, and hopefully Rachal won't turn into a turnstile. Blitzing is what I'm more worried about. However, a strong running game (maybe we should just throw Bush in for the first three series or so to punish their linebackers) is going to open up our passing game.

One last one: Against every team, with a comfortable lead, the Bears take shots downfield that score us extra points. I don't think that the Bears quitting on offense will ever be a problem, if we have the lead.

This is going to be a great game and I, for one, cannot wait to light this candle. How can you ask for better? Two talented teams going at it in a very meaningful mid-season divisional showdown!!!
For us I think the stakes have never been higher. We need to come out strong after nearly a half month off and show the league that we are a top team, a force to be reckoned with.
Kickoff can't come soon enough!!!
