Who would Phil Simms take if he had to pick a quarterback between Jay Cutler and Matthew Stafford?
The analyst appeared on the NFL Monday QB show on the CBS Sports Network and talked about the quarterbacks that will tangle on Monday night at Soldier Field.
“I’m going to take Jay Cutler because the guy has a big arm,” Simms said. “I like the fact that he is athletic and can move around. And he is not afraid to take chances. And he does not get to play, he does not have the benefit of playing in one of those pass-heavy offenses where you can put up all of these really fancy numbers, which are not that real. But his are real. And let’s come down to this too – and I mean this as a compliment. He’s mean. He’s an angry guy. And I think angry is a big part of being a quarterback in the NFL.”
There you go, it’s a prominent national analyst saying nice things about Cutler.

I think the difference between the 2 is experience. Both have big arms, both take huge risks b/c of the talent around them, and both seem to have issues staying healthy recently. But Cutler's been around longer and seen more on the field then Stafford.

You know what I think. I think Stafford is kind of a pussy and Cutler is not.
I'm not saying that Stafford isn't a good QB but he's not my idea of the guy who would lead a Bears team and I believe Cutler is exactly that kind of guy. JMO.
I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.

I'd like to add that Stafford is not very good when flushed out of the pocket and Jay is equally good in or out of the pocket.
