Thread: The hit on Cutler: clean or dirty? Agree with Marshall or Peppers?

That was one of the roughest ways to take a QB down. Wasn't needed, either. Hope they suspend the clown for a couple games, so he can think about what he did...

allowed by the rules, not needed and if you ask me, his intend is to injure the other player. Look at VandenBusch for example. He wants to make a football play and after that all is good and fine. Chase him, then laugh with him.

I think it was a dirty hit, a hit that was not against the rules.


I don't agree with Marshall and with Peppers, I'm in the middle. But if I have to chose Marshall is more right. All he says is this was not needed and I agree with this

Part of the game I'm fine with it, think it's carrying more weight because Suh has that reputation.

Cutler is sliding away with his throwing arm free while being held by his other arm. Suh launched himself to bring him down and momentum took him on top of Cutler. Marshall protecting his bro here, but I think hit was totally legal and if Bears player makes that play we are applauding it.

If you notice later in the game on a little pass dump to Forte Suh actually appears to hold up on the play and go easy after Cutler. This doesn't happen if first hit was done with malice.

I'm biased. To me, Suh had bad intent. He looked like he wanted to break Cutler's back. Came pretty close, based on those sore ribs. Cutty's familiar zip was missing from his passes after he returned and he had a few that were really underthrown.

Football is football. But I was kinda pissed off.

It's been clear since DIamadumbnkunt Suh entered the league that he intends to hurt if given the chance. He took advantage of the situation and carried his momentum to the ground on top of Cutler. Much like what any defensive player would do in the situation when they can actually get a rare hit on a QB.

I agree with Bear Googles though that since it was Suh its getting looked a bit differently, in large part b/c of his past treatment of Cutler. It was an awkward, yet legal hit within the rules... it was as if Suh was wrangling a calf with how he swung his leg around to trip up Cutty and bring his body down. I'm just glad Cutler's cheat didn't dig in and possibly do something to his knee again.

1. I feared for Cutler's season/career/life on that play.
2. I think Suh is a dirty player and can't stand him.
3. I think that play was completely legal and would have cheered like a mad man if Peppers had done it to Stafford.

My only problem with it is why does he always go to the head and try to rip it off? Tackling somebody around the neck is dirty, and has only one purpose - injury. So it was a clean hit, but also dirty.


I also don't think Marshall needs to be tweeting other players about crap. Just take care of it during the game - get another TD.
