Cutler hosts family of slain Bears fan
Good for Jay & Kellen Davis for all that they've done for this family.
LINK to the article Cutler hosts family of slain Bears fanCHICAGO -- The family of the Chicago Bears fan murdered in Jacksonville, Fla., on Oct. 7 attended the team's Monday night win against the Detroit Lions as a guest of quarterback Jay Cutler. Christopher Pettry, a 42-year-old Lake Villa, Ill., resident in Jacksonville for the Bears-Jaguars game, was fatally stabbed at Fionn MacCool's, a restaurant and bar in the Jacksonville Landing area. Jacksonville resident Matthew Hinson, 28, was arrested for the crime and since has been charged with felony murder. Pettry left behind a wife, Karen, and three children. Cutler provided the Pettry family with tickets and mingled with them on the field before the game, the latest gesture of support by a Bear. Tight end Kellen Davis and his agent organized a charity outing at a bar in Wrigleyville during the bye week to raise money for Karen Pettry and her children. "We wanted to reach out and bring them to the game," Cutler said. "It's a tough situation. There's nothing I or anyone can say that can really ease their pain or bring anybody back. Hopefully we were able to let them have an enjoyable time for three or four hours and kind of forget their loss and just have a good time and help them in that way because it's hard."

Jay Cutler praised by Bulls

Mike DiNovo-US PRESSWIRE
Chicago Bulls players praised Jay Cutler and the Bears' defense after their Monday night win.
Bulls Head Coach Tom Thibodeau and his players praised Jay Cutler and the Chicago Bears' defense after their 13-7 win over the Detroit Lions on Monday.
Bears quarterback Jay Cutler missed the final possession of the second quarter after he was violently taken down by Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh. Cutler returned to lead Chicago to a field goal on the opening possession of the third quarter to extend his team's lead to 13-0. Cutler finished the game 16-of-31 passing for 150 yards and one touchdown.
Bulls forward Taj Gibson told Jesse Rogers of ESPN Chicago that he was happy that Cutler returned to game while stating that Cutler's willingness to play through the pain is "what Chicago loves."
Thibodeau said he loves the way the Bears' defense is playing and enjoys watching them play despite not knowing much about football.
When asked to compared the Bulls' defense to the Bears', Thibodeau said: "shoot, we have a long way to go."
