Follow up, does he get his check still? Is it up to the Bears? Just a thought.

what if she goes into labor around halftime? Does he leave then? ( or at any point in game?) If it's possible he misses game then he should just PLAN , and the team, on not being there. It wouldn't be fair to hold the team HOSTAGE.

That's a good point. You can't plan for unexpected emergencies but I would think educating players on WHEN to do certain things would be 101.
But then again it's hard enough to keep them out of trouble, being arrested, broke etc. Hey, at least it isn't during the playoffs.
