Charles Tillman
I think this guy will end up in the HOF when his playing days are over. He had another huge game vs the oponents shutting down one of the elite wrs in the game. He continues to break up passing plays, takes on the best wrs and still manages to throw in a few punches at the ball. The other thing I notice about him is how many times he tackles a player that is running right at him. I think he is one of the elite CBs in the league.

I asked this a few weeks ago. Since I think it was 93, only one other guy(retired cannot think of who it is) have more turn overs then he does. But he hasn't been recognized until the last few years, and I think that will hurt him.
I agree he should, but unless something happens and he plays like this the next 3-4 years and is recognized by his peirs for it, I doubt he will.

Yeah if they only appreciated CBs like him when it came time to vote for All Pros. There's no doubt in my mind that he's the best all around CB in football and compared to a guy like Asomugha who makes $12 a year mil, and needed help covering him on the goaline, Peanut is underpaid too.
Who was it that wanted us to drop $60 mil on Asomugha last year? Was that jackie jokeman?
Peanut averages half that and he gets it done all by himself. After that shut down last night if they don't elect him All Pro this year the the voting is rigged. When you take a sure TD away from a guy whose called the best in the game then you're the best at what you do too.
Peanut saved the game with that play because the Lions fumbled on the next play and we got the ball back rather than giving up a score. We give up a TD there and we probably lose the game. That's just how close we were to that. Tice should be buying Peanut and the entire defense steak and lobster this week for bailing his offense out again.
Hail Peanut Tillman.
I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.

I think you're thinking of Brian Dawkins.

Thanks Pappa, it was Dawkins.

You know, there have been so many Bear defensive backs over the years who one could make the case for being in the Hall of Fame. Some that come to mind are Richie Petitbon, Gary Fencik, Doug Plank, Dave Duerson, Mark Carrier, and Donnell Woolford. I think that Charles Tillman deserves to be added to that list. Although none of those guys who were previously mentioned before Tillman ever were elected to the Hall of Fame (and, granted, the first five were safeties), Woolford and Tillman deserve mentioning for a spot in the Hall because they were great players. Tillman has never gotten his due as a great corner, and neither did any of those other defensive backs. soul and 4th are right: there isn't a receiver in this league that Peanut can't cover. If he can basically render Megatron ineffective and to only 33 yards on three catches without the assistance of a double team, I don't know what to say other than he needs to be rewarded for being a special corner. He should have been a Pro Bowler and an All-Pro years ago, and it was just last year when people finally saw him for his value to the Bears and his truly stellar play. Right now, we have the best tandem of cornerbacks in pro football between him and Tim Jennings.
Someone, I think it was DieHard, said that he thought that Tillman should get mentioned for Defensive Player of the Year. I made mention, too, that Lance Briggs should get a look at for that position as well. We are so fortunate to have so many great defenders on defense -- Urlacher, Briggs, Peppers, Melton, Peanut, Jennings, Wright, Conte -- and for the first time in two years, I think we have a real chance to compete for a shot at getting to the Super Bowl. Though our offense didn't click on all cylinders on Monday night due to Jay Cutler sustaining his rib injuries and because we were without our second best wide receiver (did I fail to mention that Tice really dropped the ball on us not scoring at least one more touchdown down on the four yard line and couldn't manage to call the right plays at the end of the contest to keep our tired defense off the field and thus preserving the shutout?), we have a team whose average margin of victory is approximately 26-13, with the best defense in the league in terms of points per game allowed, sacks administered on the quarterback, and takeaways. The only thing we haven't dominated the defensive stats with is yards per game given up, and we're in the top five there. We have a couple of easy games that we should win handily coming up over the next two weeks against the Carolina Panthers and the Tennessee Titans. Those games should pad our stat line considerably if we continue to play hard nose defense, which I have absolutely no reason why this cannot, and will not, be accomplished.

Mr. Irrelevant is the last guy picked in the draft. Peanut is Mr. Ridiculous.

Here's my tip, have these guys win a Super Bowl or two and their chances go way up.
