What I was calculating in my head, JJ, was the average number of sacks allowed after every quarter of the season. I think he gave up three against the Packers. If you went strictly by the first quarter of the season, he's actually on pace to give up 12 sacks. However, I don't think he's given up a sack except for maybe Monday night, but I will have to check on that. If not, his pace for total sacks will go down significantly.

This is through Week 5. Not counted in this is how many sacks were given up by individual players not on the offensive line, including those for which Jay Cutler is to be held responsible. That information is available in the link I set up for you. Kellen Davis has been responsible for one sack, as has Matt Forte. There are dissenting opinions in the link between PFF and WindyCityGridiron.com, so we'll leave it at that.

Does anyone know who was responsible for what in the sack department against the Lions? I've looked online and haven't been able to find a breakdown of who gave up what in the sack department.

You know, Carimi is getting the job done, but he's a bit rough around the edges. I have noticed that on his part, he's giving up a lot of QB pressures and hits on Cutler. However, with the exception of Monday night, his sacks allowed totals match Webb's exactly.

Speaking of Webb, the reason I want to replace him next year with an All Pro is because we wouldn't have to chip as much. I doubt that Long, Bushrod, and Clady have chip blockers on more than half of the players they're in on. I think Webb is really coming on, but I think he's hit his ceiling. We can do so much better. Carimi will be fine in time, however. He has the potential to become an All Pro RT.

It's a good thing and sox was saying that this upcoming draft will have some very good interior line prospects so picking up another young guy who might compete at OG or OC is a good possibility.

I doubt Emery will ignore that this coming year. No matter how well they may come together we still need another top prospect on the inside. It'll be interesting to see what they do with James Brown. Will they develop him as an OG or will they develop him as an OT.

They're definitely prepping EWill for OC. He doesn't have the bulk or strength Tice wants in his OGs but he does have a lot of quickness off the ball so he can play OC pretty well. Well enough is another thing though. I guess we won't really know until he does.

We could stand to upgrade Scott. He's filling a need but he's hit his peak as far as his game goes. He's an experienced journeyman OT who can play either side so that makes him a decent swing tackle but he has no real upside.

Brown is the guy with huge upside but where is the question. He's got a big enough wingspan for OT but he lacks the ideal size for it. Still he might be the perfect guy to replace CWill as a guy who could play all four line spots and be a really good backup man.
