that's true. Since Cutler embarssed him in national TV he really does his job

So let's turn him loose on Kellen Davis next. He's the next guy in line deserving of a good ass kicking right now. Cutler should have done it right after he let that 3rd down pass go right through his hands Monday night.

Does Webb giving up at least two sacks against the Carolina Panthers sound like he is doing his job? If it does, you all are more forgiving and accepting of mediocrity than I thought. Webb's mistakes are only covered up because some of the plays he gets maximum protection on. He's not the LT of the future for us, and if he is, Heaven help this franchise because it will be accepting mediocrity in bushels.

Its the same thing we've seen from Webb all of the past 3 seasons. He does well when you give him help and when theyre either running the ball alot or Jay gets rid of the ball quick. Webb isnt good. Never has been. If hes not giving up sacks, hes giving up hits and pressures.
Just like how many of us fans like to say Peppers impact doesnt always show up on the stat sheet...Well neither does Webbs negative impact. But to his defense, hes one of a few issues on the OL.

Webb does better than expected but still not good enough. I leave it at that.
Wouldn't want to see a Williams situation again after we did not get the guy we wanted. Projected 1st Round LTs this year?

I don't know if Webb is the answer either. I do know that he's working well on run blocking with Rachal at LG. They misfire at times, but they're definitely looking good on a lot of run plays. They've sprung Forte for some plays that were really great to watch. Textbook clinic at times.
Yes, they had a setback against the Panthers (and I don't know WHAT happened to Lance Louis in that game.......he looked really bad to me).
I guess that's what has me puzzled. I can see improvement. But how much CAN they continue to improve? That's the question. It's a question of consistency. They can block well most of the time, but we need them to do this consistently. The other thing I wanted to point out to folks (not you but to others who have mentioned it) that Webb and Carimi do get help, but they are also on an island quite a bit too. If you watch the play, Webb, has been MUCH better when he doesn't have help. Carimi, not so much. But Carimi will be fine with reps/experience. He's obviously green as a gourd right now as a starter.
