Yes, and Bennett has the best broken hands this year.
Bennett is a go-to guy on 3rd downs.
Example:
Cutler to Bennett on 3rd and 11. Bennet Catches the ball 4 yards short of the first down marker and dicks two Lions receivers gaining the first down.
Cutler to Hester on 3rd and 8. Cutler threads the needle on 2 defenders to complete the check-down pass to Hester, who then sees he is in traffic and dives short of the first to avoid the hit.
Hesters only real play was against that #27 who was on the streets the day before for 23 yards.
Stats dont tell all, i agree with the Hester pessimism and I'm real glad Earl is back.

And the previous 2 weeks when Hester caught the diving catch for a 3rd and long play? Or the week before when he caught that TD and the ball didn't move as his entire body landed on ball?
Hester is showing he's starting to get it. Stats don't show it all, but neither do 1 play snap shots either.
Earl's hand is not broken now, nor was it broken when he was catching/not catching passes, that's not a legit argument. Earl still only caught 50% of Cutler's passes last game, same has Hester; and one of the hester passes was a clear overthrow.
I like Bennett, I'm not dogging him; I'm just saying that Hester is doing much better then people are willing to give him credit for.

I do agree he's better. I like the idea that we have different type WR weapons. There are roles to play for Bennett and Hester. I like both.

that's my thing Jabf, both are good/great #3's. The difference is that is where Hester is nothing more then a #3, Bennett can be a #2 also. Both need to have the ball go there way 5-10 times a game until Jeffery gets back; then go back to 3-6 times a game.
And i'm down w/Souls idea of getting Forte the ball as a WR also. He's the most versatile player in the game, use him that way. If he's one 1 side and Marshal is on the other, I would think it would be an easy way of indicating where the extra protection is going to be; and then it's a simple read for Cutler to throw to whoever is going to NOT get double/triple covered, or hand the ball off to Bush.

Haha, well I was never much of a football player beyond being a place kicker, punter and 3rd string mop up guy at wherever for one year in HS. Baseball and fast pitch softball were my games. But that hole was big enough for even you to get through too. You may not have gone 39 yards but you'd have still made yardage. ![36 7 1[1]](/images/smilies/Sports/36_7_1[1].gif)
Cheers.
I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.
