too bad he wouldn't have spent a 4th on Marshall from the get go, or a 2nd on Fitzgerald, but oh well...
I thought that Fitzy was a really high first round pick.
Well there were others we could have picked up. But there always will be. Hindsight is 20/20. That's also not to say that any player would be as good if they played with the Bears. Marshall was a special case because we knew how he works with Cutty, and in a similar offense.
Marshall will be a Hall of Famer one day. I see Cutler as being more or less like Phil Simms. He's a good quarterback, but not great, although in the case of Cutler, I think that's because of his offensive line that he's held back. I don't know whether Simms is in the Hall of Fame or not, but their numbers are sort of similar. Of course, completion percentages in the 1980s and early 1990s were much lower than they are now, so I may be comparing apples to oranges.
