We need strength to our Oline, Garza isn't getting any younger so if we could get Barrent Jones to be our furture Center that'd be great. We do need a TE but we can have all the TE we want but if Cutler can't be safe in the pocket and getting sack on every snap then what's the point?

All good points, Zif. I think we need to focus on the offensive line this year too. My best guess is now that we know Webb isn't going to work out at LT (he did give up two sacks that I saw on Sunday), we will go after one in free agency really hard and see where that leads us. I think, too, that since Te'o is out of our reach without us having to make a trade up in the draft to get him, which would not only cost us this year's first round pick but quite possibly next year's as well, going after one of the two Alabama players -- Jones or Mosley -- would be wise to consider.
Hate to say it, but i think jersey boy 2 was right. Webb is showing more potential to stick around, and I'm willing to be he's in the top 15, as opposed to the 33rd best LT last year. Yeah, he's needing more help, but that tells me, even with help last year, he was lost. This year, he's getting it together. We gotta be patient with him. I think our interior could use an influx of talent, and maybe backup tackle could use a high pick, but I'd go with the TE at this point. If somehow Manti were available, I'd draft him in a heartbeat, but like Prince Amakumura a few years ago, we ain't gonna get the guy I want..

Sorry Henry, but I just cant get into an OL that allows 6 sacks at home.
We barely scraped our way out of the last two games.
Would you take this show on the road without the 4 TE's that we need on the team?
What does that say about our OL? I know what it sez ... it sucks.
Anyway heres some music until we get the OL together :
Points for the Great/obscure Dylan song. I'll argue that yes, we do need those TEs to block, but Tice is doing worse for this line than the line is to themselves.
I swear to God that if we draft a TE in either of the first two rounds I will move back to Green Bay and become a Packer fan for the first time in my life. However I will not do a sheep. A man has his limits.
Between the 53 man roster and the PS we have six TEs on this team now. Count 'em if you don't believe me. We need one more TE like China needs more Chinese. Maybe we should figure out just what to do with the six we have now before we add a seventh no matter how much Tice seems to like collecting them.
He must like keeping them off the unemployment rolls or something but I imagine by now Phil Emery must be getting tired of cutting them paychecks to be mostly spectators. I would be.
Unless we plan on putting 50lbs or more on one and turning him into an OT I think we should probably take TE as a high draft pick off the table right now. Kellen Davis catches a TD pass an an average of one out of every four passes we throw to him. I think that's what I read. Don't you all think then that maybe we should expand on that just a little? I think the objective of football is still to score more points than your opponent isn't it?
Even if that ratio drops a bit I say we're still gonna be on the plus side overall when we finally get around to using him more in the red zone and Hester less. How are we ever gonna find out whether or not the kid can be a good receiver if we never throw to him? One pass yesterday. One pass and that was a TD! I hope Tice bookmarked that in his playbook instead of putting it in the recycle bin like Martz seemed to do right after one of his TEs caught a scoring pass.
Bad for his image you know.
Yeah let's draft another TE. Seven is a lucky number isn't it?
I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.

May be true that Webb may deserve another chance... we still need to upgrade LG, RG & OC. RT gets the benefit of the doubt because he can be seen as rookie
Soul, you know how much money we'll save if we cut all of those TE's but Rodriguez and an emergency guy, and draft a TE? Believe me, I'd prefer something different, but if a TE that were a true playmaker (see: like Greg olsen, but doesn't get knocked over by a slight breeze) I could deal with that.

We already have one Henry. His last name is Davis and we misuse him every game so as far as I'm concerned no more TEs until we eat what's already on our plates.
Nobody can tell if the guy can or can't be a playmaker being thrown to as little as he is. QBs need reps, RBs need carries, WR needs catches and so does a TE. We'll never learn much by throwing to him just once a game beyond the fact that he scores a lot when we do that is.
How much more of a playmaker are you looking for than a guy who gets a TD catch once out of every four times he catches a ball?
