When they actually tried, they were getting the yards. Forte is getting better running between the tackles. I think they should try more pitches, change of directions and outside runs, if nothing more than to wear the D down. Plus, use 2 back sets to throw them off, and use bush as the gd battering ram he is!!!!

Unless Bennett and Sanz are hurt, hester should not have a part in this offense. Carimi is really hitting a wall, and honestly, Webb isn't doing as bad as i thought.

I think the reason Sanzenbacher hasn't had a major role in this offense is because he hasn't proved to the coaches that he can play and not drop passes. I did see Bennett go off the field once today after absorbing a big hit. I don't know if there's anything to it or not. Hopefully there wasn't.
As for the offensive line, what can you say? It's the worst in the NFL. Webb gave up at least two sacks that I saw, and Carimi is not playing well at all. It appears to me that the only time Webb looks good is when there's maximum protection on his side of the line. That needs to change. Having chip blockers all the time is pathetic, and it limits so much of what an offense can do in terms of attacking the defense. Sadly, as we saw against the Lions, there's been some chipping going on on Carimi's side of the line. The line has given up 11 sacks in the past two games. If this doesn't scream for a change at LT next year, I don't know what does. I think Carimi will be fine by next year.

First time they played 60 minutes of football all year. Too bad for the first 55 they played like shit.

Yep. We needed 60 minutes to win. We played well on the first series except for the sack, and then from the time of the mid first quarter onto about five or six minutes left in the game, we were horrible. Think of it this way: we had NEGATIVE YARDS in passing at the half. Thankfully, pass protection improved dramatically in the second half. I guess the only way we're going to be able to block effectively this season is to chip block on almost every down.

Well I'll agree with this much. Loki and Evernight will probably disagree but this was a Packer style Lambeau Field win today where you get pushed all over the field for 55 minutes but some how the Bird of Paradise shits on the other guy at just the right time and you pull out a win you never should have.
He must have gotten Newton square in the head for him not to have realized that Jennings was due for a pick the way he was all over Smith today. Looks like we've got two CBs looking for All Pro honors. Peanut saved our asses last week and it was Jennings this week.

No Dags the reason Sanz hasn't had a major role in the offense is because they won't let you on the field to catch passes when you're inactive every week. I hope that the last we see of that and that they get him back in uniform again next week. Somebody out there needs to catch passes because the guys we've been playing sure as hell can't. Three crucial 3rd down drops stopped drives cold when we had good field position.
Not only is Carimi's technique horrible but he looks weak. Very weak. In camp he said he was playing much lighter than last year and I think it's affecting him. His strength isn't there and he's lunging rather than getting control of guy with his hands but then when he does manage to do that the overpower him and he ends up on his ass. Guys 50lbs lighter than he is are "rag dolling" him.
The whole line stunk today. Every one of them.

We also have a good team that is 6-1, which very few teams can say. Now a win against TEN next week, hopefully with the return of Jeffrey will put us at 7-1 and in a position to beat a higher level of competition 2 weeks in a row. Even those teams are flawed, however. Andre Johnson isn't as good as he once was and our defense will be a bigger test than either team faced this year. If we can committ to the run and cut the cute crap against HOU and SF, we have a real chance. With the 49ers offense, we should be easily able to frustrate alex smith and hold frank gore in check. Not saying we will go 9-1 through that, but is still very much within the realm of possibility

I don't think we'll see Jeffery back for another two or three games minimum. Maybe by game ten. Any sooner and I'd be shocked. It's a broken hand and that's kind of a problem for a guy who has to catch those missiles Cutler throws.
They need to activate Sanz and put Hester on the bench. He's completely lost it out there. Too much going through his mind and he's not doing anything well.
If we don't get an offense pretty soon we'll be lucky if we don't finish 6-10 so I don't even want to think about 7-1 let alone 9-1. Two weeks in a row we've eked out wins over team we should have beaten easily. Once again the offense can't even put 20 points on the board even after scoring early.
We can't get this lucky every week. Somethings got to give. These were second division teams who took us right down to the wire both games. How in the hell are we even gonna compete with SF or Houston. If we play like we have offensively these past two games they'll kill us.
