They need to activate Sanz and put Hester on the bench. He's completely lost it out there. Too much going through his mind and he's not doing anything well.

If we don't get an offense pretty soon we'll be lucky if we don't finish 6-10 so I don't even want to think about 7-1 let alone 9-1. Two weeks in a row we've eked out wins over team we should have beaten easily. Once again the offense can't even put 20 points on the board even after scoring early.

We can't get this lucky every week. Somethings got to give. These were second division teams who took us right down to the wire both games. How in the hell are we even gonna compete with SF or Houston. If we play like we have offensively these past two games they'll kill us.
Sad but true Soul. We were dominated for 52 minutes by a 1-5 team. Then they had a 6 yard punt, giving us the ball at the Car 38. After a ton of opportunities with GREAT field position we finally took advantage of it. Then Smith slips & falls & Jennings gets a pick six. Carolina thens drives right down, as they had most of the game to regain the lead. Cutler & the rest of the offense finally gets their act together, against the prevent defense for the game winning FG.

A very dissapointing game with a happy ending. I'm not sure exactly how to feel after this one. We definitely dodged a bullet from point blank range & you never apologize for an ugly win & winning a game you have no business winning is usually a sign of a good team. On the other hand I know that the team we watched the last 2 weeks is not playing like a top 10 team, let alone a SB contender.

So are we a SB contender that had a bad game? Do we just not matchup well with the Panthers or is this a sign of things to come. Guess I'll just drink another cold one, be happy with an unlikely win, root for Denver against NO & hope we get better next week against the 31st ranked defense in the NFL.

Don't jinx us, Jim! lol. We're playing bad defenses right now and not scoring more than 14-17 points a game against most of them. I think the Titans had a half way decent game today against the Colts defensively even in the loss.

Dags I'm looking forward to next weeks game to see how we play in all phases but especially offense. If they come out & execute, not only block the guy in front of you but sustain that block longer than 1/2 a second, protect the ball & catch the ball I'll be happy. But if it's more of the same my expectations will have to be lowered to keep my sanity!
    Go Bears!

Thats a broad generalization that happens to be incorrect.

Panthers and Rams are mediocre defenses, #15 and 14 in yards allowed, respectively.
Dallas is actually pretty decent, #4 in yards allowed.
    Lions are 8th.
Jags are pretty bad (25th), yes...which is why we put up 41 points on em.

Lol...Ironically enough...the Panthers and Rams are also pretty decent in the sacks department (7th and 10th).

Honestly, the only real "BAD" Defense all around that we faced was the Jaguars. The rest are either medicore, or pretty decent.

    THE BAD NEWS:

After the Titans game (another bad defense), we face a gauntlet of good teams and defenses, so this Bears unit is really going to be tested:

    (stats are for Defenses)
    11/11: Texans (3rd in YPG, 5ht in Pass T 7th in Sacks)
    11/19: 49ers (1st in YPG, 1st in Pass 27th in Sacks)
    11/25: Vikes (11th in YPG, 12th in Pass T 2nd in Sacks)
    12/2: Seahawks (5th in YPG, 9th in Pass T 7th in Sacks)
    12/9: Vikes again
    12/16: Packers at Soldier Field
    12/23: Cardinals (6th in YPG, 4th in Pass, T 5th in Sacks)
12/30: Lions again (8th in YPG, 7th in Pass, 14th in Sacks)

So yeah...after Tenn, our Offense is really gonna be put to the test.
    I'm trying//to let go//of maybe//but maybe's just so//very interesting//Oh, what a thing.

This team is more like the 2005 Bears than the 2006 team. That 2006 team could score in a variety of ways: offense, defense, and special teams. This year, Hester is old and useless, the offense has only had two games this year whereby they have scored more than 20 points (Indianapolis and Jacksonville), and the offense is essentially winning all our games for us. The only reason that 2005 Bears team didn't go to the Super Bowl was because it only average scoring about 16 points per game offensively. So far, that is what we are doing this season.

In the end, Jimmors, the only thing that matters is how many points the defense gives up. We may not have the league's best yards per game allowed total, but we're only giving up 14.3 points per game. Meanwhile, take a look at the opponents we've already played, then ask yourself again about our offense, whether it's struggling because of the "high" level of competition we're going up against, or if it's because we are truly a pathetic offensive unit that has actually gotten worse since Mike Martz was fired. I'm not defending Martz, but the offense did improve marginally from 2010 to 2011, especially when one considers what it was like after Week 10 last year. So far, Tice is looking just as incompetent as Martz, perhaps even more so because of his undying devotion to his pet projects along the offensive line that will never get better because they aren't NFL-caliber talents.

Do you think Tice knows what he got handed at OL (goodbye Chris Wiliams) and is doing the best he can do by bringing in 4 TE's ?

Is it still a learning curve for an OL that needs 4 TE's?

BTW ... Kellen Davis scored a TD.

Im merely pointing out that there is more to defining a team then "good" or "bad." You seem to be under the impression that if a defense isnt at the top, then its "bad." But there are plenty of shades in between, which is where most of those defenses weve played fall...middle of the pack, not good, not bad, just average.

But jeez, thanks for posting that table:
Out of the top 6 teams in ponts allowed, we get to play 4 of them, and the Bears are #1. The only one in the top 6 we DONT play is Miami. good gawd, this 2nd half of the season is going to be brutal.
    I'm trying//to let go//of maybe//but maybe's just so//very interesting//Oh, what a thing.
