Ugly, frustrating win. But a win's a win. The Packers looked bad in winning a relatively close game at home against a horrible team, too, although theirs wasn't nearly as close (and the team was much, much worse). Still, it's another week we stayed 2 up on them and another week closer to a division title. I hope this was a wake-up call for the team, because clearly they didn't come to play today.

Panthers were just asking for trouble by squib kicking it all game, and this is what happens when you try to be too clever...karma catches up and gives you a 6 yard punt.

We got by, and Cutler has shown he can make a comeback in a seemingly hopeless game. We need to try that no huddle more, tho. It was the best use of offense all friggin day. Idk how many more weeks we can give tice/cutler/bates a pass, because they are "just settling in"? It's obvious Cutler is going to Marshall so much, because his TE's are not that reliable. Not to mention junkass hester. Honestly, get bennett and sanz more involved w the passing game, so that Cutler has more people he trusts, to throw to. Still don't understand not doing more checkoff dumps to forte tho

Yeah, i agree with the no huddle. In that 2 minute drill...our offense really seemed to click. Cutler was given just enough time to drop back and complete his passes, and they just drove down the field. It seems like when the offense played "normal" pace, we got burned by the Carolina DL, but when we kept it fast paced...we moved the ball very well.

Im not saying they need to run no huddle all the time, but i think it would be worth the practice time to use in situations like this, when our OL is struggling and pressure is getting to Cutler.

Yup, yup, yup. I would love to see the numbers on the Bear's success with the 2 TE set vs the 3 wide. Bennett seems a superior player. Neither TE seems even as good as average to lower level NFL starter. I like the idea of getting superior players on the field. Now 3rd and 1, maybe no, but 1st and 10, 2nd and 6 etc., why not lots and lots of Bennett.

I see some freed cap space this offseason with spaeth and maybe davis gone. Davis has had only one good game, and that aint enough. I like the idea of a 3 wide set, as long as they are quick passes, or we trick them and run the ball. Not like both of our TE's are gonna be worth a damn blocking...

One big thing that stands out this team finds ways to win and that was 2006//don't know why it took so long to get a rhythm on offense //seems to me the offensive line needs to have a quicker package or obvious negates for pass rushes//the panthers wanted this game and i think using what the defense gives you as well as calling plays to take advantage of those pass rushes would make the game easier

When they went to Bennet, he looked GOOD, to bad he hurt his back on the drop/ miss. After that he was gone again.

Ugly???? How 'bout fuggin' ugly or fugly for short. A win is a win but that sure is one poor ass excuse for an offense we had playin' out there today. The defense saved their asses again this week and on my block Tice and his boys are plum out of excuses!

Memories of the 2006 game against the Cards only today Hester was more goat than hero. We benefited more from what he didn't do than what he did. Just the attempts to keep the ball away from him did that and it finally caught up with Carolina and since that's a pussy ass way to play football it served them right.

What we should have learned but probably won't.

    1) Hester isn't able to play that #2 WR spot. He can't be counted on or trusted. Play Bennett at Flanker, get Sanz ass activated, and don't throw another pass of less than 30 yards to Hester period. If you're gonna use him as a weapon then do it!

    2) If Gabe Carimi has one more game like he had today he needs to sit some and let Scott play. He spent more time on his ass again today than a four year old on his first time on ice skates.

    3) The rest of the line didn't look much better so it's time to wipe those smug looks off their faces and take off the Webb Nation Tee Shirts. They all sucked today every single one of them. A false start on Garza again!!!!!! Jeezus it doesn't get any more dumb than that.

    4) We need a short passing game off of 3 step drops and we need more planned roll outs and play action. When that line can't block a fart Cutler is a sitting duck and Tice has no way to get them out of it.

    5) Mike Tice's rookie year as an OC and play caller will NOT win him any awards. Time to stop telling funny stories on yourself at press conferences and spend more time figuring out how an offense with as much talent as you have to work with can look so so bad.

It's a win but it also goes into the "how not to do it" ledger.
I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.
