Haven't we given up close to 900 yards on defense these past two games? I think we're gonna need cutler to win us a shootout real soon. The line didnt play well, but it's a given when you start out putting them in a position of blocking deep pass plays. Gotta start out simple and let them get into a groove. We aaw that's how it's done last year, and why that isn't being done is beyond me. But every team has its flaws at this point. Someone needs to kick tice upside the head and we could solve at least 2 or 3...

I will give Mike Tice an out or two on the offensive playcalling. His offensive line can't pass protect worth a shit (a whopping 11 sacks given up in the past two games), and his tight ends are horrible. The only thing that worked for the offense today in terms of getting huge chunks of yards was running Forte outside and between the tackles, and even that started to falter in effectiveness come the second half. However, Tice didn't use Michael Bush nearly enough today; I think I saw him carry the ball a couple of times. When we run the ball, we're a better offense. I don't think there's any doubt about that.

What really gets me is that we didn't max protect Webb and Carimi more often than we did, but at the same time, had we done so, we would have totally thrown out all other options on offense. We may have the worst offense in the league right now outside of the cities of Jacksonville, Cleveland, and Seattle.

Last thing I'll comment on: we need a new LT. Webb is simply not going to be able to get it done for us in the long run. He gave up at least two sacks today, and maybe another that I didn't see. He can't pass protect if he doesn't have a chip blocker backing him up. Sadly, neither can Carimi.

Let's not cut them any slack. The entire offense played with it's collective head up it's ass today. They weren't even close to being in the game mentally. If you guys listened to what the booth was saying they were telling like it is.

The line was being manhandled mano a mano today. I mean getting their royal asses kicked then picked up and handed to them and kicked again on the next play. No blocking, no offense that's simple enough to understand.

Everybody thinks Lombardi taught football. He didn't. He taught blocking. He was an offensive line coach first last and always. Block the play right and the back runs to daylight. It was that simple. They out executed everyone even when you knew what was coming.

For whatever reason they weren't even close to being prepared to play today and that includes Tice. The offense screwed the pooch again and the defense bailed then out again. Welcome to Chicago Bears football. Some things we never change because well......it's a tradition isn't it?

Dont think its quite that many yards, but another fun fact:

If you dont count Orton's garbage time TD, the Bears have only given up 3 TDs in the past 5 games. And if you really want to get picky and exclude the Fumble recovery TD in this game against the Panthers, then its only 2 TD in 5 games.

Soul, you are being a big baby. Quit it! How can you expect anything Tice could have called to have worked today? I'm not saying that Tice was without fault, but I am saying that most of the plays he called were not executed very well, if at all. I know that this coaching staff has to be doing a better job of coaching the fundamentals of blocking, route running, and how to catch a pass better than what we saw today. Tice was hindered and limited to what he could call by these factors, and I don't think there's any doubt about that.

I think this offense really and truly misses Alshon Jeffery. He is the second best receiver we have on this team, and missing him puts Hester in the position as the number two target despite the fact that we have Earl Bennett who usually does so much better as a secondary receiver or in the slot. Hester is barely an NFL quality wide receiver; he's a receiver who really has hands of stone. Jeffery is going to be as good as Marshall someday, or at least as good as someone like Marty Booker, only hopefully he'll be a more long term solution than was Booker. Hopefully, Marshall won't be an injury-prone player like so many others we've drafted over the due course of time have been.

Almost equal to the offensive TDs we've scored.

We have scored 5 during that span i believe (or maybe its 6...forget which game we scored the first one).

So yeah, we have essentially scored twice as many TDs on Defense in the past 5 games then we have allowed TOTAL.

For the love of all things holy, I hope the Bears pad their stats against a pathetic Tennessee Titans defense next week. I have friends here who are huge Titans fans, and I'm sure they would never let me hear the end of it if we didn't pull the game out.

If we don't score at least four or five touchdowns on the Titans, I'll be sorely disappointed. Their defense is like 31st in the league, and they lost to the Colts today. They are only in third place in the AFC South because of the Jacksonville Jaguars being in the same division, and that's it. I'm hoping for a big game our of this defense.

Titans are terribad. Even in the 3 games they actually WON, they were all by less then a FG, and they gave up 41, 23, 34 points (and won). In their losses, theyve given up 34, 38, 38, 30 and uh oh...19 points.

So yeah...i think Bears should be able to have a field day agianst the Titans, Cutler should be able to pad his stats, Bears should be good for at least 30 points, defense will still do their thing.

    I predict:

    Bears 33
    Titans 10

I predict it will Bears 79, Titans 0. We will break our own NFL records for largest margin of victory and most points scored per game.
