Theres just too many great posts to respond to here.
All in all, the members of this board have got their finger on the pulse better then Halas Hall.
They can throw it back in our face that they are 6-1 ... but its HOW they are 6-1.
The Panthers game should have been an obscene blowout ... not just fucking around until it counted.
I reallly expected the DEFENSE to throttle Cam all the way out of Soldiers to Elmhurst.

God, I don't need to live in Chicago because I have all you nuts on here to keep me abreast of the pulse going on in the city.

Actually, the panthers have only lost one game by more than one score, there is also an 8 point loss to the Saints that you might include in that stat as well. (Total of 2 instead of 1.) The point is that Carolina has been a competitive team all year. (2 point loss to the unbeaten Falcons, 4 point loss to Seattle) It doesn't surprise me that this game was close. I expected that. I didn't expect the bears to be almost dominated like they were.
Hopefully, this week was a "stress" test for the O-line, to see what it could handle... I would expect more "chip" blocking on the o-line next week.
"Professional Armchair Quarterback" and other oxymora.....

Yeah, the Panthers are a very odd team...they are a much better team than their record the past 2 seasons would indicate. Cam Newton may not be your prototypical Franchise QB like Brady/Manning/Rodgers, but he definitely has the skills to win games and be a dangerous Qb to deal with, whether thats through the air or on his feet. I dunno...if the panthers continue to sink to the bottom in the standings and end up with high draft picks this year, they may be a dangerous team in a couple years, much like what happened to the Falcons.
I'm trying//to let go//of maybe//but maybe's just so//very interesting//Oh, what a thing.

True dat. Hopfully they will draft a bunch of players that are oddballs or never make the team.
Hey wait ... where have I seen that before ?

Hopefully. But yeah...id say the panthers under rivera are a few players and a couple years shy from becoming a perennial playoff team. Much like the bears and packers will fight for the division for years to come, i can see the panthers and Falcons fighting for theirs as the saints fade away to the Aints again.

How the fuck did we managed to win that game? Actually how did Caroline managed to fuck it up? Did anyone see our offense? We played worse than against the Packers... I was almost crying in 3th quarter.
It's a win and if this offense keeps playing as they have done thro out the season we sure as hell gonna need those wins, because I got to be honest and I don't see us win over the Texans/SF/Packers/Vikes based on our results.
It's a good thing offense sells tickets and defense wins games otherwise we'd be 1-6.

Rivera definitely knows how to coach and definitely understands defense.
