    1. The play calling hurt us early. It looked like we were trying to hit the home run pass early. Maybe Tice thought this would make the Panthers fold if we got a quick jump on them early. But this required Jay to hold onto the ball too long. It killed us. Our oline isn't as bad as some people want to make it out to be - BUT - it definitely isn't good enough to allow Cutler to have all day holding onto the ball either.

    2. We had an early rhythm started running and we had the Panthers on their heals a bit. The run blocking was solid. It felt like we could have ripped and gutted the Panthers and put them away early - if we had simply gone with a mix of runs and high-percentage passes. In the wind conditions, those short passes would have been solid. Instead we shot ourselves in the foot with an early interception and sacks (there was NO way Cutler was going to hit that long ball to B.Marsh, that ended up an int.....it looked like a stupid Hail Mary pass). Self inflicted wounds hurt us.

    3. Nobody will agree with me on this one, but I'll put it out there anyway. The oline had about 5 really bad plays. We had 1 stupid play by a TE too. Other than that, it really wasn't on the oline. Sure, they've had better games by far. But it wasn't one of those games where the oline imploded. They actually looked pretty solid most of the day. But the play calling, and Cutler holding on the ball too long, killed us IMHO. You know me Soul, I'm a nut on the oline. I was dead-dog tired when I we got home after the game (I live in Central Illinois, a few hours South of Chicago), but I couldn't go to bed until I watched the game (had it recorded) to see if it corroborated what I thought I saw at the game. And it did. Webb blew 2 plays, but other than that looked pretty solid overall. Carimi had a few bad plays too, but that was it. And for some crazy reason, Lance Lewis got owned a few times. Rachal and Webb had some fantastic plays together on running downs. Those two work VERY well run blocking as a team on that left side.

    4. When the game was on the line, the oline looked like Pro-bowlers out there. It was cool to watch.

I agree with pretty much all of what you're saying. I really think a better gameplan week in, week out will have us a top 15 ranked (not talented, maybe, but ranked) o-line. Tice keeps putting too much pressure on them, like Martz did. BTW, are you anywhere near Effingham?

We keep talking about the same old shit, the O line is what it is. We don't have back up O line players to bring the game to make things better and unless we make a big trade within the next few days, we have what we have. We can only hope they will do better over the rest of the season.

As for Cutlers play I still say he was hurting during the first half and got a couple of pain shots at half time and that is why he got better during the second half.

Out running game sucks, its not the RB its first off the play calling, why do we keep trying to run up the middle when our O line can't make the holes needed, and why run on what seemed like ever first down doesn't take a Defensive coach much to stop that. I wish someone would tell Tice you can run the ball to the outside from time to time.

JJ, I must disagree. We can run it up the middle, but for whatever reason, they abandon the run early, I guess because Forte isn't averaging a TD on every carry...

I live in Bloomington. It's about 2.5 hours south of Chicago on I-55.
    Go Bears!
