The Chicago Bears will add receiver Raymond Radway to the practice squad on Tuesday, according to a source, but will have to make a corresponding roster move before making the latest addition official.

A standout at Abilene Christian University, Radway (6-foot-3, 198 pounds) was cut on Oct. 23 by the Dallas Cowboys, who brought him into the league in 2011 as an undrafted free agent. Radford appeared to be poised to earn a roster spot with the Cowboys as a rookie, but fractured his left ankle in the 2011 preseason finale.


The Cowboys brought Radway back in 2012, but the receiver was one of the club's final cuts after a preseason in which he didn't notch a catch.

Radway worked out for the Bears a little more than a month ago before re-signing with the Cowboys, where he spent two weeks before the club cut him. Once he became available, the Bears jumped into the picture.

The Bears already have two receivers on the practice squad in Kamar Aiken and Joe Anderson. So the club's plans for the position at this point are unclear.

He runs a 4.3 in the 40. Elite speed, (faster than Devin Hester).

The list of potential third receiver body-types is fascinating in its variety. They range from small to large and from fast to extremely fast.

At the tallest end of the spectrum, we have Andre Holmes, picked up by Dallas last year and added to the practice squad where he made a distinct impression on receivers coach Jimmy Robinson. He is 6'5", 208 lbs. and has run a 40 as low as 4.45.

At the shortest end of the spectrum, we have Dwayne Harris, 5'10", 208 lbs, drafted in the sixth round in 2011. Dallas released him in October but then brought him back. He wasn't ready to take the third wide receiver spot last year, which is why the Cowboys went looking for other options and wound up with Laurent Robinson.
In between these two, are the following candidates:

Raymond Radway, 6'3", 193 lbs., lowest 40-time: 4.32, which is truly elite speed. The combination of his height and speed is very rare.

He broke an ankle in the finalpreseason game of 2011 and spent the year on IR.

If Cutler can hit him in stride behind the deep back and he can catch it, he'll be plenty good.

He sounds like a project, but I do admire how Emery is beating the bushes to get better. Here we are, well into the regular season, and he's still trying to improve our talent. I love how aggressive he is, trying to get us better.

It's going to be fun watching what he does with this team this off-season. It's amazing what he did his 1st off-season. It will get even better for next year.

I hope that in 20 years time we can look back with multiple SB victories and say oh man Emery truly was our saviour..

well we know hester has proven he isnt good enough and we desperately need a speedster opposiite marshal plus knox probably out forever so this does make sense. Kind of the reason why I liked Summers and wish he made the ps but f it this kid could be just what we need

And I figure that it's great that Emery is still being aggressive in trying to find talent. Now they can bring this guy in and see what he can do. If he isn't any good, at least they're beating the bushes for talent.

I really like that.

At least it's not another JA move of signing an arena league DE for the upteenth time. Emery keeps injecting competition, trying to weed out his PS and see if a few guys can eventually climb. Something I'm sure the rest of the league is doing but glad were finally doing it.
