Didn't Soul say we are like 15M under cap for next year? I don't consider that a lot of money (well... unless it's in my checking account)

Brother it would be a big project right now to go through the cap costs of every player now on the team who already has a deal for 2013 and then we still wouldn't have completely accurate numbers.
Later on this year or early next maybe I can work up a spreadsheet for it and keep it current but right now I just don't have the time for that project. The last report I read said between $13 and $15 mil in 2013 and somewhere in the vicinity of $50 mil in 2014 but that number will change radically after a few guys deals are extended.
To answer the question you asked I say it depends on those two deals and others but usually where there's a will there's a way. Cliff Stein is one of the best at managing the cap and structuring deals to fit ours so if we feel we need to go after one of them we will.
I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.
Honey Badger Don't Care. Honey Badger Don't Give a Shit.

OK, thanks.
I know about the NHL. Cap in the NHL is much easier
Just wonder if we have the chance to keep our players and bring in a guy like Long or Clady
Soul gave you an honest answer, I'm going to give you a BS one (could be true, probably not), after re-signing Cutler, Melton and Harvey Unga (yes, he's coming back in a BIG way) we'll have to cut everyone else who's close to FA. That includes Urlacher. sources are telling me that Urlacher will resign with the Bears as an assistant DC/MLB, that way we can avoid the salary cap altogether.
