Lovie Smith's strip the ball defense deserves some tremendous credit
Since Lovie Smith took over the Chicago Bears in 2004, with his take away defensive philosophy, the Chicago Bears lead the league in defensive take a ways with 294.
The second place team since 2004 is the New England Patriots. They have 262 take a ways.
Say what you want to about Lovie Smith, but his defensive scheme has made the Chicago Bears one of the best defenses in the NFL over the past eight years.

Jerry Angelo is waiting in line for a little credit, not for the TOs specifically but for the players. He did not acquire BU, but all other main contributors I think.

I heard that on the score, it's crazy, when it works it works lights out; and right now it's working better then anything I've ever witnessed. I think you pointed out in the chatroom that they are statistically better then the 85 Bears.
And the way they are scoring and turning the ball over says all you need to know about it. This team D is again carrying the O on it's backs early on. I and a ton of other fans/analysts/reportes all thought the O would at minimum be a 50/50 partner in the sucess this year and right now everyone was wrong; that D is strong every game and the O just needs to not screw it up; much like 05.

With this offense, tho, you don't feel dread if Cutler throws a pick 6. We can come back and win. BTW, Lovie is only 30 wins behind Ditka for a Bears HC. If we win the SB this year, I have a feeling he's gonna be around long enough to out last Ditka...At least I hope so. Makes ya wonder how much more he'd have to do to make the HOF as a HC, too..

Henry, all he needs is a solid playof run and I think he'll be around long enough to get past MD. He'll never surpass DaCoach in the hearts of the fans until he gets a SB ring though.
