He's also been a great guy off the field. I never would have guessed this. But he's good for the team. And great for the other WR's to learn from. I love how he guts out the YAC. Something our guys never did very well. Now you see them trying to do like him.

He's also only 3 receptions behind the leader.

With the Bears in MAX protect alot, sure he's going to targeted alot, cause of really no other WR out in/on a route.
The passion of a few, to rule the many, that's Washington D.C.. Where else was that said before, about whom?

He wasn't such a bad boy here to start with but once Shanny got the axe the Broncos turned into a clusterfuck and neither he or Jay had any real love for McDipshit and what was going on with him around. They were both Shanahan's boys and since neither of them deal with fools well it showed.
Marshall understands himself better now and he's matured into dealing with his personal demons. His career will flourish where he is now and he knows it. I don't think he'll mess this up. He's also got the perfect understudy in Jeffery. He can play the part of the mentor with him and I think he likes that idea.
Marshall has always been a nearly unstoppable force but for once he keeping that confined to the field now. He's was like finding a 3 carat diamond in a yard sale the way we bought him from Miami. If we can ever get the rest of the offense firing on all cylinders we could be just as scary good on that side of the ball as we are one defense. IF!!!!!

The guy put up great numbers playing in shitty offenses with mediocre QBs and now that he and Cutler are together again he can show what's he's capable of in a good offense with his guy throwing to him. Smart move by Emery. Risky but smart.
What impresses me most is that everybody knows that Cutler is looking for him first on every play and yet they still haven't stopped him except for that GB game. Since then he's been on a tear.
A Bears WR leading the league, LOL. Who'd a thunk it?

haha, yeah, I was thinking of the hershal walker trade when I said maybe not the best.
But looking at what was being proposed for some of the top FA WR prospects and what it would cost, it was an epic move. There was very little risk, a few draft pics and a non guaranteed salary vs. a very high upside. Marshall had produced very consitently in mediocre offenses.
On the note that defenses know we are going to throw to him, yet he still is a top receiver. This is actually pretty amazing. If you watch his receptions this year, he's going up and getting it in tight situations. Well defended passes are still caught. He's pulling in passes that the defender has a hand on, he's going up and getting passes over defenders, etc.
Bottom line is that this has panned out really well. Cutler and Marshall have a great relationship. He's not being a diva. When he dropped that TD pass early in the season (can't remember who it was against), Cutler gave him a pat on the head. Cutler is keeping him positive. Marshall has stood up for Cutler with his Tweets, etc. Some real manlove there. I love seeing it.
I wouldn't mind it if the front office restructured his contract after this year and gave him some guarantees. He's been consistent every year. With Alshon looking like he's going to be another great pick, it could pan out as a great receiver duo for a few more years. Love the possibilities.

If Cutler signs a new deal next year you can bet that Marshall will earn one soon after. I don't believe they'll be out to break the bank either. They both know they have a shot at a string of playoff appearances and some championship possibilities now and they want to stay together as a team. Those two and Jeffery along with backs like Forte and Bush provide one hell of an offensive arsenal for somebody who can run it. Let's hope it happens.

It is nice having a great wr because there are times Jay will throw a bad pass and marshall will fight for it unlike the other wrs we had in the past.
