As for Knox, I just hope he can be 100% healthy. Honestly, if I were him, I would never set foot on a football field again. I can't imagine having an injury like that, which could have easily paralyzed him, and deciding to play again. Just stay away, get an injury settlement, collect a pension and do something meaningful with your life.
LOL, guess you all don't know exactly how the economic glacier moves. As usual the factors that set this recession (any recession for that matter) in motion began long before Obama took office. I guess we can toss some of the blame his way for some failed efforts to correct it quickly but the momentum that created it? No. That one's on "Dubya" and his cronies.

They're the ones who stood around with their hands in their pockets (and yours) whistling and looking the other way while Wall Street stole you all blind. If you all believe that Obama set the stage for $100 per barrel plus oil prices you might ask yourselves exactly how did he stand to personally benefit from that? Last I checked he didn't own any oil wells. But now the other guys well that's a different story, haha.

All you need to do is look at the map of what states went what way to see what economic forces supported Romney and which ones supported Obama. I'm actually very apolitical. I'm not registered for one party or the other but as a guy who makes his living off economic cycles I do follow them pretty closely. You can't build any economic strength or an income base to tax by putting the middle class out of work. Not unless you either change the entire way this economy works or unless you tax the shit out of the wealthy! You all think Donald Trump is pissed just because he doesn't like black folks? LOL

Call me a fool, or whatever you like, it makes no difference to me but the simpleton in me wonders just how you get the middle class rebuilt by electing a guy who destroyed more middle class jobs by closing US operations and sending them overseas than he ever created! Guys, this one of those Wall Streeters I was talking about whose had his hand in your pockets for the last decade! Wake up and look at the facts. Do chicken farmers hire foxes to guard their hen house?

I loved his comments to youth about getting a college education, LOL. "Just borrow the money from your parents"! Are those the same ones who are losing their homes because the can't pay their mortgages because they lost their jobs? Yeah they have all kinds of extra dough for college expenses don't they? Mitt could send a few thousand of them to college for 4 years and not even make a dent in his wallet. Pretty hard for anyone to understand the plight of the "middle class" when you've never in your privileged life ever been a part of it.

But I digress. This is politics and it belongs somewhere other than here. But when you dislike what I have to say and what I have to say is based on some pretty well established facts then I feel I can take a little liberty in explaining my reasons for what I said. It was half joke and 100% reality.

    Now back to football.

I think we can all pull for Johnny Knox to make a comeback and if he does it will be a minor miracle. I want to put selfishness aside though. No matter what the benefit to the Bears may be if there is any chance of another serious injury I think he should give it up and never set foot on the field again.

Okay. You're a fool. And your second statement is patently false.

And I won't start (or continue) a debate here by going though point by point and telling you how you're wrong or overlooking things. But whatever. Uh, get well soon, Johnny!

Well Soul, in my opinion, its not cool for the winner of a contest to write a long opinion piece that attempts to castigate the loser as less that intelligent on the day after the contest when the emotions of the losers are still quite raw, then go on to say AFTER said opinion piece that this is not the place to discuss such things. If you really had second thoughts about the time and place to share those opinions, its easy enough to delete, but you did not. I could go on to dismantle each "fact" that you address here because many of your "pretty well established facts" are neither facts or well established, and many, are in fact, lies. However, at the risk of sidetracking this thread any further into a heated political debate, perhaps I should just leave it at that. Besides, the way I'm feeling today, such a discussion would likely become quite heated and last into the wee hours of the morning, and frankly, I have better plans for my night.

I can accept the first because it's just one man's opinion but not the second because that I can back that one up. But not here. Maybe I'll post it in another forum when I get the time.

But the bottom line is I don't care two hoots in hell about politics but economics? Yeah that I do care about and so should we all.

It's not politics brother it's economics and I can support those facts and will elsewhere when I have the time but not here. I really have no use for the political agendas involved or even the persons involved. I merely look at what I see as the economic agendas and the possibilities for each to benefit all of us.

Listen, I didn't choose to make this an issue. A few of you disliked my little dig at Bush and Rog came back with an own opinion about the economics of a recession. I gave another opinion on that and that I should be entitled to do and it's not exactly a layman's opinion either.

The only winners and losers here aren't on either side of this election. We're all winners if we get out of this mess we're in and we're all losers if we don't. I don't really care whose sitting in the oval office. That guy is only a part of the solution. The rest of it is up to congress and we elect them too yet not anywhere near as much attention is paid to that as the presidency.

I'm not pro Republican or pro Democrat anymore. That doesn't seem to be working and the lines are more blurred now that they ever have been. I'm just pro economy right now and getting this ship sailing again and if I side with anything it's whatever I believe will make that easier to accomplish. Whatever my leanings are they're based on that.

If you took my comments as political rhetoric then I'm sorry but that was your interpretation of them. I'm not castigating Romney the person but I am criticizing his methods and ways of thinking. Personally I think they're a bit out of touch with reality but that part is also just an opinion and no one needs to share it.

Could I have phrased it differently to grease the skids of those you call the "losers"? Maybe so but I never really thought of it in those terms and as I stated above we all become "winners" or "losers" based on the economic outcome not the political one. I don't care about the politics at all.

So if you or anyone else wants to debate the economics of it all then maybe we should do that in TBS. I'll be happy to back my position up with some facts in exactly the same way I do with football facts in this forum. I also don't understand why it needs to be a heated debate. But then again I guess this whole election was just one big series of heated debates so maybe that makes sense to some of you.

Anyway I'm no more or less happy with WHO won the damn election than I am just a little more confident of one path out of these woods over the other. Time will tell whether mine is the correct read on it or not.

What else are they left with to vote for. TERM LIMITS !!!!!! and No pensions for politics.

    EDIT STILL

REP's grab the left ankle, DEM's grab the right ankle. Either way your left bent over and you know whats going to happen next. I've said this before. Neither party is better then the other. AMERICA, the leader of the FREE world and you only get to vote for really 2 choices? Really? EUROPE ( most ) does have an edge on us with choices. Hell, if you live with a Dicator in charge you would get a choice of half of that of now.
