Greetings from Atlanta
Hello Everybody.
It has been a while since my last visit to this forum.
First things first.
Good Lawd, you guys have one F! of a good Defense this year.
A few years ago you all were worried that you had a few years left
before the D went into a rebuild mode.
Wow that was quick!
Onto my post.
cant promise that I wont flame Cutler ;)
Anyway, yesterday the Belcher Report wrote that Knox was done for the season.
That is a tough blow because IMO he was always better than Eric Weems and
Weems aint no slouch either.
So all of us football people were like WTF did Da Bears sign Weems for?
Kinds moot point now.
I looked up his stats and see that he has not been used at all to date, which I
found to be very odd.
One thing that you may or may not know is that last year as the season progressed
Weems started to see some action and he made some very nice plays.
The big question is this,
Will Tice give him some snaps or just rat hole him as a returner like
Mularkey did in Atlanta?
Will Cutlers head implode at the possibility of having another sure handed receiver?
Well at any rate Go Falcons, Go Bears.
See you at the the big showdown,,,,,

Welcome. Regarding the use of another WR, other than B. Marshall, that is considered blasphemy. Cutler only throws to B.Marsh. The other guys are just holding roster spots.

Welcome back, he's buried on the depth chart as a ST'r only. I don't see that changing b/c of the current depth chart of Marshal/Jeffery(when he gets back)Bennett/Hester.

Weems isn't getting many touches even on STeams. We all thought he'd be the principal KR guy and Hester the main PR guy but so far Hester has had the majority of chances on both. That may change in the second half but so far Weems is still the #2 guy.
So far our OC, Mike Tice, has done a very poor job of preparing game plans and using all of the offensive weapons he has. He'd probably be far better off using Weems as a WR than Hester but since Hester gets the big bucks and somehow the team remains convinced that any week he'll break out as a star WR (they've been expecting that for five years and it hasn't happened yet) so guys like Weems and Sanzenbacher who are probably more productive never see the field.
You're not a Bears fan so you'll never appreciate just how much they like to shoot themselves in the foot offensively and their aim is pretty damn good most games.
If the offense hasn't improved greatly before the playoffs and it becomes the reason for not advancing I think there will be a change made next year and Tice will be either replaced completely or his role will diminish and Bates role will increase. I think Bates would be making better use of guys like Weems and Sanz in his passing game right now.
Cutler deserves kudos not criticism. His QB rating in his last 5 games has been over 100 and he's won 12 or his last 13 starts including that comeback win over Carolina. He's playing the best football of any QB in the league of late. Some folks don't like the guy just like some folks didn't like Jim McMahon either but they're both winners. Style doesn't count with guys like that. Just winning.

I will probably get into trouble by revealing this to "the enemy" but here goes. We do have one devastating WR weapon, and it's not Weems. We have been told for several months, by our OC, Mike Tice, that we now have a secret weapon called "The Hester Package" that is fully operational.
Oh, the humanity of it all.
We hope that it is not unleashed at a home game though. It sounds like it has the capability to bring nuclear winter to Chicago and the immediate suburbs. But with Tice, you never know WHAT that guy will do, so we could see it triggered in the Houston game.
Pray that we don't see the dreaded "Hester Package" in the Houston game. It's fearsome. It's coming. We just don't know when.

I've seen "The Hester Package". In fact even though it wasn't addressed to me I even dared to open it. Here's what I found.
3 Hershey Bars
1 Small bag of baked Cheetos
1 Monster Energy Drink
2 Packages of String Cheese
1 Mini Flashlight
1 Wool Stocking Cap
1 Pair of Wool Mittens
1 Bic Lighter
and
1 Gift Certificate for a McDonalds Double Cheeseburger (there were originally two but J'Webb stole one of them)
It was also marked "postage overdue".

Hey Karst,
Good to hear back from you. Remember you well from years past.
Hope we get a chance to talk about a game between Chicago/Atlanta this year.

The more plays that Weems gets, the better he becomes.
I know that is a uh duh statement, but the guy made some nice
play from the slot.
Typically his drops were attributed to the lack of reps with the starting QB,
and knowing we were going to lose him in FA, it was a bunch of Mularkey.

That makes me curious what a "Webb Package" must contain. I shudder to even think about it...
