Nor will he vs. the Niners. It will become a template on how to beat him if successful.

Well I'd expect Wade Phillips to say something like that. A little pre-game gamesmanship never hurts and the more misinformed you can keep the other guy the better.
Marshall will have his hands full just getting loose from Joseph so doubling him is just frosting on the cake and ever with two guys on him Marshall has still made plays. He may not make as many but he won't get shut out.
It's a great time to use the backs and Bennett more and force them away from doubling Marshall. Run Davis on some seam routes and let them decide whether they want the Safety over the top of Marshall or would rather let Davis match up one on one with a LB or SS. These were mistakes we made in play calling against the Pack so let's see if Tice has learned anything.
This is gonna be a great test to see whether or not the offense has grown up some since that game. We haven't faced a defense that tough since.
I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.

Two five yard passes to two TE's is a first down. Think short yardage gains and remember its four quarters of play.
Eat the clock with simple gains and keep their defense on the field.
If Forte or Bush break one ... good. I would count on it.
Just keep getting time consuming third downs into field goal range.

I will not complain about Cutty <--> Marshall after their season and the 7-1 record.
Expect Bennett to be open more than not and Forte will get some throws too. Marshall still will make the catches and put up a TD.
Line up Marshall & Hester on the Outside and go with Bennett in the slot. He makes the catches in the middle. Play kind of boring. 1st down after 1st down after 1st down. 10 yard throws to the middle, run the ball. Have the time of possesion. We have 3 RBs that can run the ball during the game. Get Forte going early on and in the 2nd half use Bush a bit more when they are tired. They will make mistakes when they are tired. Line up in pass formation, then audible for running plays. Not having Cushing helps in cases like this.

Sure we do, but none of them are Jeffery. Jeffery -->Hester, Davis etc etc.

When has being double teamed stopped Cutler from throwing to Marshall?

very true. Sometimes sadly true. Against Houston, the risk of an INT is going to be higher than against the teams we have played previously.

We do, but Marshall gets targeted a lot more than the others.
Marshall 59
Forte 20
Bennett 16
Jeffries 14
Hester 13
Davis 10
Our top 7
Marshall 59 has 10 less the other six combined. It is easy to see why Marshall is going to be double teamed. Cutler throws to him even when he is.
Marshall likely will still have a few catches and a TD, but Cutty will throw at least one pick because of it. Tice will call plays for other WR, Cutty will audible into a play for Marshall. Tice will get blamed for a bad play call.
This game, we will need to rely on the run and dink and dunk passes. Take Marshall out of the game plan, at least as the main target.
