That said Rodgers is every bit the winner as far as QBs go and a hell of a smart and talented football player. But yeah, Sunday night would be a great time for Jay to show he about ready to step up to that level too.

Great point about the continuity of the scheme. Years of familiarity for Rodgers. Cutler on the other hand has a new scheme almost yearly. It's a "big deal" to have different schemes, OC's, WR's - on top of the oline woes.

Yeah and Rodgers got to watch Favre run it for three years before he got his shot. There's a lot of "time in" there so just imagine what Cutler could do once this offense actually finds itself.
I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.

And GB has always loaded the team with a wealth of offensive weapons for Rodgers. For years. We gave Cutler Roy Williams and Hester and Martz ....and figured we were good as in our next Super Bowl

Well that was actually Angelo who gave us Martz who gave us Roy Williams that was part of what begot his termination. I won't blame Angelo for Hester not becoming a #1 WR though. It may have been foolish to think it but drafting him was no mistake. We've just horribly mis-played the guy on offense is all.

If it goes our way according to plan ... this should be the most BORING game on SNF so far.
LETS HOPE SO!
Theres no longball against these Texans ... JCUT is never going to have the time to set up with our OL & TE's to block.
If JCUT even gets to Marshall it will be more miricle then business as usual.
This is grind it out on the ground, maybe some of our TE's contribute for a change, as OFFENSE.
As WR's or that rare RB look for 5 stinkin yards.

This is a good point. Didn't Cutler struggle under the first year of Martz's system but then last year (his second year) he played much better?

Buffalo does have a decent defense so that's really a good sign for us that they were able to handle their offense fairly well and of course Rodgers is Rodgers and they're pretty good at beating teams who over commit on pass rushes. He does it to us all the time.
We can win this game but it's as much on Tice and Cutler's shoulders as anything else. If the offense plays like it did in the Packer game or like we did for most of the Carolina game we'll get beat.

That's true that Cutler has only thrown over 300 yards passing in one game this season. However, take into consideration that this team doesn't pride itself on passing the football en masse like the Donkeys, the Colts, the Packers, the Patriots, and the Saints. We are a very balanced offense in terms of playcalling most weeks from the stats I've looked at throughout the season. That being said, I look for our passing stats to increase once we get Alshon Jeffery back in the lineup. God knows we need him.
The thing that has totally saved our passing game is that Marshall has managed to stay healthy all season. That's been a major plus. As often as he's used, he could easily go down ::shudders at the very thought of this::, and he hasn't. When we have both him and Jeffery in, we'll be set.
That being said, I'd like to see Tice run the ball more. I'd like for him to dial up the runs to the point where this team rushes for about 150-170 yards on average per game. If we do that, we won't need to pass for more than 190-200 yards per game. The 49ers and Chiefs have done this in recent years, and each has experienced a certain level of success. The more you run, the longer you keep your defense off the field because the clock does not stop for an incompleted pass result in a change of down. I think the fact that we are so balanced with our playcalling, which is one of the few things that Tice does well, has been a testament to our success. The running game is not out of style. It's just that most teams outside the cities of Chicago, Kansas City, Oakland, Pittsburgh, Baltimore, and San Francisco don't know how to execute a run-heavy attack.
