News from Houston
Tate and Cody are both listed as out. Big plus for the Bears.
But, while talking to a Houston area doctor they asked him curiously about Cutler and how difficult it is to play with Diabetes.

I think it is worth a listen... the question was asked around the 5:30 mark.

A "nice Jay" commentary for a change. It has to be a real struggle for him sometimes as far as managing all that goes with that illness. Keeping his blood sugar balanced and his stamina up has to be a real challenge for him at times to say nothing of the periodic mood swings.
Those of us with kids know what they can be like when their blood sugar is low and a case of the "crabbys" sets in and I have my own daily battles with a biochemical mood disorder. Some days nay, even some hours within the day, it ain't a whole lot of fun being me or even being around me.
Some of what we see as Jay's "moodiness" has a biological cause. It's not just him trying to be an asshole as many assume. It's tougher to control than you think even when you're aware that it's happening. I've never yet ever heard him use that as an excuse and I don't any of us ever will but it's in the mix and we should be aware of that.
I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.

Now if somebody will just kidnap, Watts, Foster and Schaub between now and Sunday night life will be less difficult to deal with for Lovie and Co. How about if Peanut plays and we send them to the hospital to keep Mrs Peanut company?

I'd like to point out that Matt Schaub has yet to pass for over 300 yards in a game this season. Just so you know. And the Bills gave them fits last week. And the Packers, who have an offensive line that's as bad as the Bears, beat the Texans 42-24.

True, but as much as it pains me to say this, Rogers is MUCH better about playing within himself and taking what the D gives him than Cutler is.
Sucks, but true. And that is a major component of what it is going to take to beat them.

Cutler has to play smart. Rogers is a machine at playing smart football. He's had more sacks than Cutler, yet he's so good at playing smart football. He just puts that team on his shoulders and carries it to wins in tough games. Consistent excellence.
Sunday night would be a GREAT time for Cutler to showcase that he can be this kind of QB and play 4 quarters of rock-solid ball, even if the oline sucks.
Trestman - Kromer - Tucker - DeCamillis
I'm looking forward to seeing these guys coach. Hope they're good.

Rodgers plays more like Joe Montana while Cutler is more like Brett Favre. Cutler can throw with the best of them, but he will never amount to shit if he doesn't quit taking unnecessary hits and start throwing away balls on plays that aren't capable of materializing because all of the receivers are covered.

Yeah but how many games has Cutler passed for over 300 yards in? One? Schaub is still a very capable QB and he has a great running game to help him along.
Buffalo does have a decent defense so that's really a good sign for us that they were able to handle their offense fairly well and of course Rodgers is Rodgers and they're pretty good at beating teams who over commit on pass rushes. He does it to us all the time.
We can win this game but it's as much on Tice and Cutler's shoulders as anything else. If the offense plays like it did in the Packer game or like we did for most of the Carolina game we'll get beat.

I agree with you about Rodgers but I'll also give him that he's been playing that same offense for 4 1/2 years now with the same offensive minded HC in a system built to take advantage of what he and his receivers do best. So far that's an edge Cutler hasn't had.
That said Rodgers is every bit the winner as far as QBs go and a hell of a smart and talented football player. But yeah, Sunday night would be a great time for Jay to show he about ready to step up to that level too.

LOL, well that's only half true. The guy you compare him to (the ones whose name we never mention around here anymore) is goin' to the HOF having done just that although I do agree that Mr. F probably got sacked less. He threw picks instead.
