On returns, his bread and butter, he looks tentative and nothing like the explosive guy of past years. He's chiefly living off his past rep right now and opposing teams are soon going to stop being scared of him and giving up valuable field position like they've been doing.
As a receiver, he's even more a non-factor. The typical DH pass play finds him out-positioned, out-muscled, and out-fought for the ball. Inevitably he falls down well before making a solid effort on the ball and them leaps up demanding a (non-existent) penalty. Frankly, he SUCKS at pretty much everything except being a decoy. Last night he couldn't manage to get 1 yard after the catch in the flat to pick up a key 3rd down. He's terrible on O.
Hate to say it but this offseason may be time to make a tough but unemotional decision....looks like we are pretty near wasting a roster spot now.
I totally agree with what you just said, I think the bears should trade him in the offseason.

Believe it or not, I actually enjoyed watching the game. The Texans play great ball and are well coached. Two great defenses going at it. Neither QB was particularly effective. Maddening in that I thought the Bears were not well coached and we always knew our TE's stunk, but hard to watch. Makes me mad that I think we could have won the game, but we didn't play well. The Texans played better and they deserved the win. But it still sucks!

I just hate it when former players have a kick ass game against our team. Manning made 2 huge plays.

After Schaubs INTs and their lead, I never expected that the D will score while Foster gets the ball time after time knowing that Campbell is not Cutler who COULD have that one moment, that one throw.
I hoped for Hester to finally get a Return Touchdown this year

Yep me too, would be a really good time for him to return a punt for a touchdown.
If we could trade him to get a LT/LG I'd be fine with that.

we won't get anything of value for him. With this Cap Space (+ some other we can free up with Speath or Spencer, Webb) on the other side, we could sign a Long, Bushrod or Clady
don't want him to go. I hope he signs a contract to be our Return guy and only this. No more WR like now. Take a pay cut, extend the record and retire as legend. Or get cut and go from team to team in the hopes that he will find a chance on a team like the Browns as #3 WR
