Sad but true. Actually Rodriquez's blocking is getting pretty good.

Davis needs to sit at least for a game. Rodriguez is erratic w/his blocking. I'd like to see the kid catch a few balls, what could it hurt? It's a sad day to say we need more Kyle Adams lol.

Kellen Davis was complaining how he didn't get enough looks, they give him them and he drops them all. I think this position needs to be addressed this offseason. I prefer moving to a 3 WR set and keeping Rodriguez or one of the other TE's in. Kellen is a good #2 TE, They had to see what they had in him and it turns out he's not a starter. There is a hand full of TE's in the draft and FA next year that we could look at, it needs to be addressed.

KDs chances have come and gone IMO. His blocking has been shoddy and he's sucked as a receiver. One nice TD catch vs Carolina but otherwise he's been a drop machine. Sorry, but the guy has been an epic fail this year and its no wonder why Tice and Cutler don't target him more...he's unreliable and unproductive.
I really hope Lovie benches him and starts utilizing the other TEs on the roster. We have too many right now anyway (5!!!!) so figure out who's worth playing and keeping for next year and who's not. Lets see if KAdams and ERod can be better receiving weapons (how could they be worse?) and if Eldridge can block as good/ better than Spaeth.
Plan on dumping (overpaid) KD and Spaeth this offseason and possibly bringing in a vet fresh face to compete. with the above young guys. Can we find one damn TE who can block AND catch???

My concern is with Tice's love for a players prototypical body type for a position rather than his play on the field. He has shown this with Webb and Davis does have a great body for TE. What Tice doesn't get is that the body is only one factor. You can't coach desire, drive and ability. You can only hone and channel them into skills that show up on the field.
I hope he will draw a line in the sand for Davis and judge him on field performance rather than if he SHOULD be a great TE based on his body size.

Yeah, well this prototypical TE body (6' 7", 270) got bumped off his route causing an interception and fumbled as soon as he was hit...both by substantially smaller defenders. If it was just KD having "an off night", I could understand that. But he's sucked all year. He's whiffed on several blocks that have directly caused sacks/TFLs (as has Spaeth) and he has more notable drops than notable receptions. He sucks plain and simple and needs to be off the field and off the roster.

Lets face it we traded the best te this team had.to develop davis you need to throw to him more and get him into the game.doesn't look like he has the hands but i would use him red zone or first second down.where is the third down package with dependable hands and bring in another tackle and send hester flying down the field while everyone is up on the line.be creative and play smart use your players to their talent

e rod doesnt even practice with the TEs he practices with the RBs according to talking heads on the score so I guess that explains why he hasnt had a shot at TE. Which sucks imo

Rodriguez is going to get his shot this week at TE, at least that is what is being reported as of now. So let all hope he makes the best of this chance.
