This was a very winnable game
Kudos to the Texans - they played a great game, but this was a very winnable game. Even with the turnovers.
Why did we stop running Bush? And Cambell --- what can I say? Why is he not keeping track of marshall? He should know where marshall is all the time. Marshall was open several times and he checks off for no gain or even a loss several times.
On the very last throw, he had a guy completely open upfield and he throws to Forte with three guys around him. He certainly was not very good.
I also thought Cutler was trying to pass too often when he was in. Not sure if it was him with audibles or it was Tice, but we actually were moving the ball well when we were running it early with Cambell.
We were also moving the ball decently in the first half, but Cutler made some throws he just shouldn't have.
We could have won this game, but the decisions that a team makes impact the game just as much as player performance. I think we made some very poor decisions as to the game plan and the results reflect that.
The others that I would say helped us lose the game were our TE's and Cambell.
A dissappointing loss, but it was a close game.

Texans played a good game but I wouldn't call it great.
I completely agree about Bush. This guy has run the ball very good for us all year but Lovie loves him some Forte. Run the shit out of them both
and let Forte run out and catch the ball.

RUN I'm starting to think the Bears staff has run reversed with pass Think the Team is doing TOO MUCH DUST. Drug testing might help
The passion of a few, to rule the many, that's Washington D.C.. Where else was that said before, about whom?

I agree BiH, well at least until we trotted out Campbell in the 3rd.
This O still came out flat in the 1st qtr. We pass way to much early on, and it's just not what this team does well. Need to run the snot out of our RB's, if Forte isn't having a great night, throw Bush in there, if he's struggling throw Forte back in there. but you HAVE to run it, 20-30 times a game, minimum.

Maybe I am wrong, but when Cambell initially came out and they started stuffing the ball down their throats with Bush, I thought "Well, maybe it takes an injured Cutler to finally go to a running game." I was actually thinking that the game was going well.
Then Cambell started trying to pass and it all broke down. Not sure if he can't see open guys or what the deal was, but he checked down for losses more than once and his accuracy was nothing to write home about.
And Gould missing a FG? rarely happens. That would have made it a 1 point game. Not sure if that would have made a difference in the Texans scoring a TD, but it might have changed momentum just enough. Probably still a loss as we did not do thr right things to consistently move the ball.
We have success with Bush, and what do we do? Go to the pass... Maybe we had to because time was running out in the end, but we stopped running Bush MUCH earlier than that. I know we want to prove we have an explosive passing game, but before you can prove that, you actually have to have an explosive passing game and we don't. We have several good targets that we don't use. Then Our QB misses an open Marshall more than once. And we don't have a TE that could find their own ass with both hands, a hunting dog and a searchlight.

The play that stood out to me was I believe in the 1st QTR, or early 2nd. 3rd and 5, and we take a shot in the End Zone 30+ yards downfield. Of course when you're turning the ball over on 3 consecutive possessions to start the game...

always had the chance to win this game and was in it all the time. The difference were the fumbles and that missed FG.
+ the drops

If the player didn't drop all those throws we could have won this game, that is what screwed us over.
I don't understand why we didn't use Bush more in that game, he would imo be perfect. When he did get the ball he did put up them yards, Forte wasn't having a good game.

BiH, your points are good and I was thinking a lot of similar thoughts.
It was clear Forte was not getting it done. Certainly some of that was Houston's defense keying on him but I have to think a lot of it was predictable due to the weather and field conditions which made his style of edge and cutback running less possible. Bush, as a downhill between the tackles runner, was likely to be more effective...especially since Houston's NT was sidelined. And he was. Yes, his fumble sucked and hurt us bad but he needed to be carrying the ball a lot more and before the damn 4th quarter. That was just stupid mismanagement by the coaching staff there.
Otherwise, it was bad execution. TOs, a few close calls that went against us, a lot of missed passes by Campbell, some bad drops, and an embarrassingly pathetic performance by Davis.

I agree w/all this actually. But again the issue was when we ran, we ran in chunks, and when we threw we threw in chunks, never in a drive did I wonder what they were going to do after the first 2 plays, it always seems run run run, run, or pass pass pass pass.
