On the real though, I just hate Collinsworth for some reason. He gets right under my skin, I HATE HIM.
Conversely, I love Barkley when he is on and Gruden for their inappropriateness.
So you know first hand how much Henry Burris sucks. The real one. Not the poster. Though the poster may suck at being a QB as well..... but he might have a better arm than the real one....... who knows.
Anyway, as far as announcers go, I could not really care less which announcers call Bear games. It does not matter if they like the Bears or hate them, they are just back ground noise. Only reason I listen to them at all is to hear injury updates for players during the game.

Not everything anyone says is gonna be gold, why would you expect different from a football broadcaster? The only sportscaster that I've ever really liked listening to was Harry Caray, but that may be because he was an alcoholic. If I'm by myself watching the game, and don't wanna hear it, turn music on; if i'm over at a friends', we're talking crap too much to pay attention to the broadcaster, and finally if we're at a bar or restaurant watching it, it's not like it matters, because there are a million people talking, anyway.
I agree. They almost all say some dumb things because there is so much time to fill, particularly in baseball. All I ask for is:
1) Don't have an obvious rooting bias or hatred of certain teams. Be fair. Example: to most of the media, Aaron Rodgers has never made a bad throw in his life. Every single interception was either a "calculated risk" or the receivers' faults. On the other hand, every single Cutler pick was 100% on him. Cutler can throw a pick because his receiver fell down, ran the wrong route, or got overpowered by a 180lb DB, and it's "He's gotta take the checkdown. Another dumb mistake by Cutler." I mean, Rodgers is a great QB, but they don't always fawn over the great ones. The Turico blowjobbing of Matt Leinart during the 2006 Bears-Cardinals game was laughable at the time, and even more so now considering he is a career 3rd stringer who spends his time nailing 16 year-olds.
2) Don't show open disdain for the game, as Joe Buck has in every single baseball game he ever called and many football games. If you can't sound "in the moment" and not condescending, get a new job,

Turn off the volume of the TV and put the radio broadcast on. So much better.
The passion of a few, to rule the many, that's Washington D.C.. Where else was that said before, about whom?

If anybody follows Hockey(please end the freaking strike/lockout) Pat Folley is by far one of the best announcers to ever listen to. As a kid I loved listening to him call the Hockey games because he made it seem like you were at the game because of how detailed his anouncements were. He would do interviews with opposing players and keep his stories always positive. He always made it seem like the game was more important to all fans than being a homer announcer. Sure he would bring up bad things but he would make it interesting. He would not rant or cry foul constantly over bad plays. He usually kept is personal vibes towards players out of his announcements. I remember the Joe Buck/Randy Moss moon shot on how Joe cried like a bitch.

Isn't that what whiny ass little pussy's like Joe Buck do? If he wasn't the son of a legend like his Dad he'd be doing play by play of women's roller derby. And I like Pat Foley too but I seldom get a broadcast and yes please end the strike. I hate NBA BB.
I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.

Announcers are few and far between. A guy I think would be good is Kevin Harlan who does primarily basketball. He's pretty energetic. Hell, I think Fouts is 100% better than C.C. and he's not that good anymore it seems.
Arguing on the internet is like winning the special olympics, even if you win your still messed up.

I don't mind him that much. He can get annoying at times, but you could say that about anyone.

meh, I just ignore the puke most of the time. Different guys like different styles. I happen to really like Madden. Some guys think he sucks. If he bothers me, my TV has a volume control.
