Hester looks lost out there on "O"
He looks like he's regressing instead of improving as a WR. Any chance they demote him on the DC?

He's a situational player on offense and I believe once the Bears get back some of their more "talented" WRs, Hester will finally find his niche. Regrettably, Hester was one of our better WRs for a number of years and got his position on the DC due to situation and not so much because he deserved it.

I disagree, He's getting targetted 4 times a game, how can he look like anything? He caught 2 passes out of 4, and there was a clear PI, that's 3 out of 4 catches; and if Cutler doesn't cross the LoS, it's 5 of 6, one of which would have gotten us from the 30 to inside the 5. He's the #4 WR, forced to play the #3 WR b/c of Alshon's inj.
The real questions in our WR squad, is why isn't Earl Bennet getting as many looks, if not more?

Well when he can't catch the ball why target him.

So he needs to catch 100% of his passes JJ? 5-6 passes caught is a higher percentage then Marshal, who caught 8 of 13; should we drop him on the chart also?

It almost looks like Bennett is still hurt out there. If AJ returns Hester can just work on KR's and give Sans a look. If there can be a Kyle Adams sighting there can be a Sans. Davis can sit next week.

I'm half way tempted to say the Bears need to strongly consider drafting another WR in the first round and screw going after a OG until the second round. The more decent wide receivers we have in our offensive arsenal, the better distribution of passes we'll be able to have. I have no faith in either Hester or Bennett ever being truly effective for us simply because Hester sucks and Bennett can't stay healthy.
Personally, I don't mind that Marshall gets the majority of the passes thrown. If he's the only receiver we have who's capable of getting open and catching them, well, I just have no problem with letting him get the majority of what's thrown.

I'm w/that but if Tice can't utilize them correctly then it would be better suited to draft needs elsewhere. By seasons end good or bad, we'll find out.

Every year I see this guy look like an all pro WR at training camp. This year he looked as good as I've ever seen him at camp (and posted that here).
But then the "real" season begins, and he just looks bad.
His route running is getting worse, not better. He has a hard time getting separation. We have better options on this roster than Devin Hester. If he's the best option we have after Marshall, then we're screwed. He's not really an NFL-level WR.
p.s. K.Davis looked like an absolute stud at training camp too. But, unfortunately, he too has been disappointing as a receiver.

Crazy how quick AJ went from being a situational contributor to being a important piece to the offense. Hester drops way too many passes to be a consistent presence. I'd rather have a reliable option like EB out there opposite Marshall than the "explosive" Hester who can make guys miss in the open field but to do that he has to catch the ball first. Interested in how quickly AJ gets back in the mix. I'm fine with the trio of BM, AJ, and EB, they all have particular skill sets and present different options. Hester shouldn't be out there as much as he had, he hasn't earned it.
