That's Serratore's crew for you. He's a hard ass and he really dislikes calls being over turned or indecision on the part of anyone on his crew. If they'd have taken more time making the initial call and or shared some opinions maybe it might have gone the other way but I agree that the booth probably didn't have enough to look at in order to over turn it. On the contrary I think that if it had been ruled a completion (and IMHO it should have been) then the booth would have confirmed it.

Just for general info it was Serratore who swore over his mic at one of his crew in last weeks game when they questioned his spotting of the ball after a penalty. One of his crew was trying to tell him that he mis-spotted it. He cursed him, blew him off and refused to listen. Serratore does not like to have any call questioned. You could see him trying to talk Lovie out of it.

Hey, we caught a bad break two ways. It was a big play that could have led to a TD and we lost our QB as a result. Despite that this team needs to toughen up on offense and find ways to win just like the defense finds ways to bounce back and stiffen up after allowing a TD drive like they did on Sunday night.

Bears = a tougher than nails defense + a pussy offense = not the best team in the NFC.

Here is the kicker of the Jay Cutler hit, he did not attempt to slide down to avoid getting hit like qbs are instructed to do. Jay put himself in a position to get hit and he did. I have seen a lot of late hits on players this year and I can say it was not cheap. I can say I have seen Chris Conte get a way with a few late hits and one I remember where someone caught a td pass in the endzone and Chris hit him late getting away without getting penalized for a late hit.
The NFL disagrees with your veiwpoint. I'm glad you like our QB getting cheap shotted and actually defending it ...

NFL disagrees with me alot of times and there is nothing I can do about that. Second I am a fan of the game and not a homer that always cries foul when one of our players gets hit.

Tim Dobbins was fined $30K, but how much was he paid to complete the contract on Cutler? That's what I'm saying. It's one thing to see a defender make an accidental helmet to helmet hit once in a while, but watching the tape over and over, it's very obvious there was nothing accidental in this case. It's as if Dobbins took a brief second to line it up and then he clearly made "the hit" on our quarterback. There is only one reason people use drugs. It' to get high. There's only one reason a person shoots a gun toward something living. It's to kill that someone or something. And there is only one reason a defender purposely hits a quarterback or any other player helmet to helmet. It's to do bodily harm, to injure, to hurt, to take a player out of the game. That, in my opinion is a contract style hit. Dobbins should have been ejected from the game as soon as the officials saw what I saw. Dobbins could also have been arrested and charged with assault with intent to do bodily harm. Dobbins should have been suspended from the NFL for a period of time. Instead, Dobbins was fined only $30,000. That wouldn't even pay for the first day of treatment Jay Cutler has likely incurred as a result of being assaulted. So at the end of this whole affair, what was the NFL doing? They slapped Dobbins on the wrist and told him not to do it again. He laughed it off with assurances (wink) that it would never happen again. The Bears on the other hand will start their next game without the victim of the assault. The ramifications are huge. We already lost the game we were paying, and the fact that Cutler was taken out of the game at the end of the first half was likely a major contributing factor. Now the Bears will play another game without the starting quarterback on Monday night. I'm not saying the Bears can't win without Cutler, and I'm confident that Jason Campbell is fully capable of covering the quarterback position on Monday. The point I'm trying to make is that Dobbins has robbed the Bears of 6 quarters, at least, of having their starting quarterback at the helm. $30,000.00 is an insult and as I said before, a mere slap on the wrist. Dobbins walks away laughing and probably receiving high fives from his team mates, and the Bears are playing with the number 2 QB. How is this a just decision?

If the NFL really wanted to end the helmet to helmet/late/unprotectged hits they would not fine, but suspend the D player, w/no pay, for as long as the hit player is forced to sit; max x games. You start making these bitches sit w/no pay and I guarantee you they start tackling head up, and not have "acciedental" hits to the helmet.

Sorry if this was brought up earlier, I didn't read through all the points.

Well with DObbins fine, he basically lost a game check. As did Collins with his helmet to helmet hit.

Yep.... less than a second after the throw was made.

My only complaint was the helmet to helmet. There was no way he could have avoided hitting Jay

Hey sweetheart, we as BEARS fans are always right ... PERIOD !

You dont EVER take the other fans point of view.

If Forte walked up to Gore and planted a bullet in his dome at Frisco ... in front of the whole stadium ...

then you as a BEARS fan better be able to take to the witness stand and tell the judge and jury that Gore provoked him.

THATS a fuckin BEARS fan baby ... we are ALWAYS RIGHT !

Benji we have to back our team no matter what , BTW in this case the NFL agrees with us.
