I like the fact that the Bears have concentrated on Jason Campbell in practice, but the 9ers did have Smith practice this week, stealing reps from their backup. Also, Campbell is a seasoned veteran who has started in 70 games. The 9er's backup is green as a gourd.

Doest really matter, either way you cut it, its going to be a defensive battle to the death. Just as nature intended. Stupid miners shouldve known better to mess with a Bear while he shits in the woods.
I'm trying//to let go//of maybe//but maybe's just so//very interesting//Oh, what a thing.

Good news for the Bears. Put pressure on Kaepernik and Gore, don't forget to cover Davis and Crabtree and let our defense do the rest.
It's gonna be an very tough and interesting game, but the Bears might have a chance to win this one on the road imo.

I agree. We will have a decent, veteran QB. They will have a very inexperienced QB going against our great defense.
On offense we just need to limit stupid penalties & receivers dropping passes. It sure would be great to see our running game hitting on all cylinders too.

I say it'll come down to which offense is the least inept and can adapt. Although I can see things being better with AJ back and perhaps even slightly better playcalling I can't see us coming out on top on this one. Also T.O.P. is going to be huge this game.
Arguing on the internet is like winning the special olympics, even if you win your still messed up.
Restore the roar!

Famous last words, but we should have this one. Unfortunately for the 9ers, they are going to be at a disadvantage with a green QB. We are not going to be playing the best SF team, but we should win this.

The Bears are going to have to stack the box and force him to pass the ball. Stop Gore, you win the game.

I don't know. I tend to agree with shorty. I think no matter what happens, their defense is going to shut down our offense if for no other reason than because of Tice's playcalling. Hell, Tice runs when he should pass and passes when he should run! He did make some nice calls in the Texans game, and if it rains again tonight like I heard earlier this week that it may well do, he'll be reined in again on what he will be able to do with the football.
Another thing that concerns me about this game is how Campbell always checks down every time he scans the field. Rather than targeting an open receiver down field throughout his stint in the Texans game, he would dump it off to a slot receiver or to Forte for little or no gain. That cannot happen tonight. Hopefully, a week of preparation will have him ready to tackle this challenge head on.
One last thought before I end this here: they will have a decisive advantage in terms of what they will be able to do with their tight ends. Our tight ends suck outside of perhaps Evan Rodriguez, while they have one of the very best ends in the game in Vernon Davis. He's scary, and that's how good he is. Marinelli is going to have to have someone double team him in order to succeed defensively, and it's going to happen more often than not over the middle of the field.
I expect this to be a close game, but I cannot be too sure that we'll come out on top in this one. My prediction: 49ers 14, Bears 10. We'll be lucky to get any offense going in this game with the way we've been playing lately. Cutler is so key to this offense performing at an optimal level. If we are to win, we are going to have to rely on the defense pretty heavily to come up with some turnovers and perhaps even score once or twice. And Devin Hester, if there ever was a time for you to wake up and return one all the way for a touchdown, today would be that day.

I agree that it won't take much to shut down our offense since we usually help do that anyway, but I also think that they are going to have just as hard a time or harder getting their offense going.
We have the best running tandem in the leage with one of the least capable people trying to utilize it, but Jeffrey is back and all in all especially with Smith out I'd be surprised if we lost this game. Doesn't mean we won't lose, but it would be a real disappointment.

Don't get my hopes up, or I might just change my mind on who I think will win this game! lol
I think this game is winnable, but I just don't think it will happen. Frisco's defense is as good if not better than ours, and I just don't see us scoring too awful much against them. The defense will come up big and shut down their offense, but the real question is whether we have the personnel to even get two touchdowns and maybe a field goal against their defense. This might be the case if Cutler were playing, but Campbell? Meh.
