Yep and we meet those requirements

unfortunately for us, the play-offs can be counted on for usually being full of the good teams! haha
shocking and pathetic.
Did you forget that easily that JJ Watt did jack squat last week? The Texans have a really good front four, but the line played well in that game. Even with the two giant fumbles, I think we would have had a good chance to win that game had Jay stayed healthy.
Anyway, it's predictable that people would jump out windows after that crap show last night. Yes, our offensive line is bad. No, it's not as bad as it looked last night. The defense was attrocious last night, too. We got destroyed by not-very-good prospect starting the first game of his career. Anything worse than 13 point allowed last night would have been a failure. The defense isn't as bad as it looked last night, either.
Basically, the entire team played as if it either didn't give a crap, or had spent the week partying and found out there would be a game two hours beforehand. Clearly, whatever they did this past week in practice was a total failure because the entire fucking team was terrible. That doesn't mean the Bears are pretenders. That doesn't mean we won't make the playoffs and will assuredly be one-and-done if we do. It means we inexcusably didn't show up for a huge MNF game on the road against a good team. It is a horrible reflection on the coaching staff, as the Bears have had a number of these complete no-shows during Lovies tenure. However, these guys are professionals. If you can't "get up" and be focused for a MNF game with the potential of deciding the NFC's 1 seed, you probably should quit football entirely. Anyway, as bad as that the game was last night, we are better than that and it's not the end of the season.

Rogelio - you really think their QB was a not very good prospect? I thought his poise and play were excellent for a first start. I think that kid is going to be a top QB. I certainly saw nothing to make me think he was a scrub.

He isn't that highly thought of. He's certainly no Andrew Luck. It doesn't matter, because that would have been a terrible defensive performance even if they were playing against Aaron Rodgers. It is completely inexcusable to let any team score on its first four posessions, particularly when two of them start from their own 18 and 4. When your offense is down 17-0 after failing to score on the first three drives, you can pretty much assume the game is over. And the defense only "caught its breath" once the Niners let off the gas in the second half. This was one of the worst defensive performances I have ever seen. Sadly, I HAVE seen offensive performances as bad.

No, he definitely was not as highly thought of by the scouts. Neither was Tom Brady who was drafted in the later rounds. I really would not let what the people rating the players pre-draft hold as much weight as the players once they get on the field. I saw an impressive QB yesterday. The fact that it was his first game was even more impressive.
And yes, I totally agree with you. The D stunk it up yesterday.

I can't remember ever seeing oline players look so weak before. Did you see how they almost looked effeminate falling back and their legs wiggling helplessly in the air? Like a turtle flipped over on his back. And it wasn't just one guy. They all (even Lewis) looked like boys trying to block men. So, it wasn't just the sacks/hits but also the way they looked so weak and vulnerable.
It was disgusting to watch. It made me sick.

Yeah, I actually thought the same thing when Louis went rolling with his ass up in the air. I thought to myself -- "Louis getting manhandled like that?" The 49er OL on the other hand were some pretty strong dudes. That is the kind of physical OL that Tice envisions himself having. Problem it all ends when he wakes up and realizes it was just a dream of his.

Yeah, they looked fat, soft and effeminate. I was embarrassed more than I have ever been embarrassed as a Bears fan. And I've been a fan for over 50 years now.
I will remember this game as long as I live. Pathetic.

I just dont get why our Oline is so bad, year after year. It was bad enough with an aging Kruetz. But it has gone straight to the bottom since he left. Our Oline has been bottom 3 since Cutler got here.
Why cant they fix it? Why was the Oline coach promoted(Tice)?

I think most of us are wondering the same thing. It isn't like this is a surprise. Most folks here predicted the oline would be our Achilles heel. We hoped it would turn out better. We really wanted to believe that adjusting play calling, and some new faces on the oline, would change everything.
But we were wrong.
In the end, you simply have to have talent. Not deadbeats. There is no pixie dust. We were sold a bill of goods.
