Alshon Jeffrey to have knee surgery
Alshon Jeffery missed four games with a broken right hand before returning Monday night and now the rookie wide receiver will be on the sideline for more time.
Multiple sources tell the Tribune that Jeffery will undergo arthroscopic knee surgery Wednesday morning. Jeffery was injured in the 32-7 loss to the 49ers at Candlestick Park after catching two passes for 15 yards. He has 16 receptions for 199 yards and two touchdowns on the season.
Jeffery, a second-round draft pick from South Carolina, said after the game he was fine but he was similarly upbeat and vague after the Jaguars game when his hand was broken on a touchdown reception as Jaguars cornerback Rashean Mathis twisted one of his fingers.
It’s unknown how long Jeffery will be sidelined. With six regular-season games remaining, it is possible he could return before the year is over. Jeffery has been valuable on third downs and in the red zone.

YOU GOTTA BE KIDDING ME!
And in a wasted effort. It wouldn't have mattered if he played or not. Would have been one less calvary soldier at Little Big Horn.
That really sucks.

I'm sure Tice can manage and adjust. Oh, wait a minute...I forgot, thought we had a real OC. Nevermind.
Maybe we can make it up by throwing some more well-covered out routes to Hester. He's got that shit.
Sorry, but I do I hear the sound of a 7-1 start circling the drain?
