Rachal returns; Carimi also demoted

Guard Chilo Rachal, who left the Chicago Bears on Wednesday after being demoted in favor of Chris Spencer, was back at Halas Hall on Thursday morning, according to a league source.
It is unclear if Rachal will be reinstated to the team, but the Bears are seriously concerned about his emotional state, the source said. According to NFL rules, Rachal had five days to report back to the team after leaving Wednesday.
Meanwhile, right tackle Gabe Carimi was told he won't start Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings. Jonathan Scott will replace Carimi in the lineup.
"It's disappointing," Carimi said after practice Thursday. "But I'm good. I'll be back."
The Bears also signed guard Chris Riley -- a Wadsworth native who played at Illinois State and was signed by the Cincinnati Bengals as an undrafted free agent in 2011 -- to the practice squad.
Rachal started the last eight games after replacing Spencer at left guard. The coaching staff praised Rachal for the toughness he immediately brought to the line, but he took a significant step back in Monday night’s 32-7 loss at San Francisco. Penalties also have been a problem for Rachal.
The biggest issue, however, might be Rachal’s state of mind at this point. Tribune columnist David Haugh documented Rachal’s troubled past in this story.
Bears coach Lovie Smith might provide more clarity on Rachal’s status when Smith addresses the media after Thursday’s practice.
Rachal signed a one-year, $700,000 contract in April after spending the previous four seasons with San Francisco. He was a second-round pick of the 49ers out of USC.

Coming from a head case (me), this is something that Rachal may need to go to therapy over to address his issues. He has a nasty temper, and that has landed him in some hot water with officials this season. He's significantly better than Chris Spencer, which surprises me that they would even think about demoting him over one rough night. I'm not saying he's the best OG out there, but he's heads and shoulders above Spencer.

I am no fan of Spencer. I will say Spencer is better at RG than LG. I'd put Louis at LG and Spencer RG as I at least know he is a flexible player.
Now the question is what amount of fail equals Webb being pulled?

Oh, didn't you know that Webb is exempt from culpability? According to Tice, he's going to be a Pro Bowler someday. He just needs more time to "develop."

This is a Fu****g joke
Rachel had one bad game and we bench him? For suckass Spencer? Get over it lovie, he's overpaid and horrible
And Carimi has promise why rob him of his potential over basically a rookie having a few tough games
Further proof this teams coaching is an utter joke

Yup, I think we have a couple of newbies in Lovie's doghouse.

Webb sucks for 2 1/2 years now and wasn't even benched. Carimi who handled Watt perfectly is inconsistent and after this bad 2nd half he loses his job.
Rachal, the guy that replaced Spencer because Spencer fucking sucks, gets replaced by the guy that fucking sucks.
Time for a change... sometimes you just have to make some changes to bring in new life and a new philosophy. Bye Bye Lovie, Tice and Marinelli

It's all just smoke-and-mirrors to convince the angry fans that they're really "doing something" to fix the situation. They must think we're stupid.
The talent isn't there on this roster. There is nobody coming off the bench who isn't a drop in talent over the crap we have starting. So we go from "bad to worse".....it's a train wreck.
I blame Jerry Angelo for the talent problem. I blame Lovie Smith for the Tice problem.

How much of Carimi stopping Watts was due to the poor field conditions? Defenders could not get traction. No one could.

Field conditions can never be an excuse for not doing your job in the NFL.
Everyone else plays on that field also.
THIS LATE BREAKING NEWS JUST IN :
We were EXPOSED at Frisco ... the whole nation saw what our OFFENSIVE LINE was.
5.5 SACKS from ONE PLAYER ?
Gentlemen ... we better get our heads out of our asses.
I hope in the next draft we go after Punters (rounds 1-3) Kickers (rounds 4-7). Many of them can play on Special teams.
