It looked like we did a lot of max-protection. We've max-protected in previous games, but couldn't block very well, even with the extra protection. Today, everyone blocked better - not just the OL guys. And we even used a 6-man oline at times (not just on the goal line stand). I credit Tice for this. If we need a 6 man oline, then do it. Whatever it takes to protect Jay and to open up the run game. Smart coaching, and in fairness, the offense executed their blocks much better today (not just the OL, but everyone).

Getting rid of williams was a stupid move; if rachal wasn't suspended, it would look bad to put him back in.
Pulling running plays are what this o-line does best, tice musta picked up something from sf det and us (last year).
It looks like our commitment to keeping Marshall as one of three guys to touch the ball on offense (cutler and garza are the other two) is waning. Got a 2nd rate version of this offense next week in lynch and wilson at home. We destriy 4-3 teams, hopefully we can figure out a 3-4. Pyrrhic victory, if any of the linemen are out next week, but Scott played well with little help.

Henry, it looked like Scott had TE help. But he did a decent job today. You're right, he did well.....nothing wrong with giving him help.

We learned it's a strange league this year. Vikings whipped SF, SF whipped us & we whipped the Vikings. Home advantage means alot as we might see in a few weeks @ Minnesota. They are a much different team at home & I suspect our O-line will struggle in that game. Both these next 2 games are must wins IMHO & both will be very tough, especially if any of the injuries we had today are serious. Seattle defense is very good & that crowd in Minnesota will be very loud. We need to start fast in both games & maybe we can be 10-3 when GB comes to town.

This off-season when Emery is about to "negotiate" a new deal with Cutler, Jay's gona play the 49er game on a tv in the room, kick his feet up on Emery's desk & tell him to just back up the Brinks truck unless he wants more of that *points to the tv*.

I had recorded what was supposed to be the Bears game but turned out to be the Tampa bay game so i only got to see the fourth quarter. Looks like we got a whole lot better pressure on them than they got on us. I saw Spencer and Louis were both injured.

Carimi came in for Louis at RG and Williams came in for Spencer is what I saw. The line looked decentr when I saw them in the last quarter. How was Spencer when he was in? Any shots at Cutler or was he able to stay clean? I saw lots of pressure on Ponder. Any team will do well when they do not give the opposing QB any time. Looks like we just kept pressuring him.

Also heard that Hester was out. I actually think this is an opportunity for Tice to see what an offense without Hester might be like. I think it will actually improve. I am not putting down his contributions -- I love the guy, but less reps for him means more reps for a more capable WR.

pretty upset I only had one quarter to watch but we played well against the Vikings. We should also beat them a second time.

Seattle is pretty good, but I think we can also beat them.

Over all, it was a fun game that was pretty one sided. But losing half our offensive line hurt. Losing Hester is no real big loss. Tillman looks okay, he had his helmet on most of the second half wanting to go back in.

Forte is the problem though.

yeah, I'm not ok with losing Forte, but Bush is good. Hopefully he won't be out long.

Missed the start expecting the game to be on sunday ticket, not nat tv. and part of the third(thanks to the blackout). It was a typical Bears game, beat up on 2nd teir team b/c the D got TO's early that led to good field position and points for the O. This might have been a win, but injuries took their toll this week. Hope nothing to serious for any of the players hurt.

Chicago O: Well I think it's fair to question whether changes should have been made sooner to the line; or at least that our starters are not so much better than our backups that it really makes a difference. More then anything this OL, no matter who starts needs to have a heavy dose of running to get them moving; but that hasn't changed since last year. Cutler looked sharp, Forte didn't look great, but I hardly want to see another full game of Bush/Allen, we saw that earlier this year for a few games and it didn't go over well. Need to see less of Davis(who's no better then Spaeth, who's not really known for his pass catching), and more of Bennett/Forte/Bush/3rd/4th wr. Marshal again dropped a TD, and even pulled a Hester running backwards and losing yards. But he also showed how tough it is to guard him.

Chicago D: this D is starting to look tired from being on the field so much the last 2 weeks. They really needed the O to give them some long drives, and the O did. The pass rush really wasn't there, and the DB's just aren't the same w/out Tillman out there.

Chicago coaches: called a good game, and got the team prepared this week; even if it was against an inferior opponent. Good to see.

Minny O: #14 for Ponder, tell me how that was a good idea again? He's got decent, but not great WR's/TE's, and one of, if not the best rb in the game and he is still a ginormous bag of suck. It's not like he was pressured all game either. AP is an absolute beast, and that OL is strong, their qb though is a train wreck; they'll have to the Cle route and get another one quick.

Minny D: got screwed by bad field position, but really didn't play well regardless. They, as is now the MO for Chicago, sold out to stop the run, but it didn't work, and the passing game finally made a team pay. When they did get pressure, cutler was able to either run or step aside the rush and get the ball off in time.

Minny coaches: remember when last week I said the worry about Lovie/Cutler is that you can do a lot better, but also have to worry about doing a lot worse...well you met worse today. Frasier had no answer for what the Bears were doing.
