It's not about his "phyche" but early on reps are positive for a young player to learn and develop
And Scott I do not think is any upgrade, people seem to only remember the SF game and not games like the Houston game
Gota look at the whole picture

He has had more games like the SF game than the Houston game. 80% of the time he's either whiffing or getting put on his ass. He's been the worst blocking lineman this season IMO.

Yes, I'm not saying he's been good
What I'm saying is he had showed his talent at times and Scott is no better and not a potential long term guy like carimi is
There was a time where bears fans wanted lance Louis's head but he worked through those and now is truly a solid player IMO
I just think benching him was premature giving his age and the number of chances Webb has gotten (yes he is also improving)
If we had 4 solid starters maybe looking elsewhere for a RT would be okay but we have more than enough places worse off than RT (LG, C, LT in that order)

I've seen some pretty astounding (even given the fact that that a shiny bead is astounding to me) turnarounds after people get benched. I really don't have an issue with Carimi getting benched. He stunk it up and it sent a message.

Looks like he will get a shot somewhere with Louis on IR
I feel he should be given another chance at RT and Scott or brown at RG (remember C Will..)

I'm fine with him playing - I like the guy. I think the message was sent (If you stink, I'm not afraid to sit you), and I think he recieved it. Back to football and let's see if he improves.

You mean the whole picture as in two knee surgeries, learning a new position, still getting reps in a limited role, and still came in to pinch hit at RG and did a decent job?
I think we see it.
Arguing on the internet is like winning the special olympics, even if you win your still messed up.

Great. We have a center who's a converted guard. A guard who's a converted center. Weve tried Louis at RT, now hes a guard. We traded a tackle we tried converting to guard, now were talking about turning Carimi into a guard?!? Our entire line is nothing but guards!!
" hey look! It's one of our lineman walking down the street!" " dude what position do you play?" "Guard." " no shit!?!?!?!....go figure"

I don't like saying anything good about Tice, but a lot of you think we have a ton of O line back ups Carimi may have to play where he is needed and not where he should play this is not on Tice its on the needs of the team.
