I agree. Right now we're backed into a corner. You do the best you can with the players you have left to play.

All the guards that we had on this team and we are down to playing Carimi at Guard.

Wow, how quick a position can turn around.

Carimi could end up following Chris Williams path.

Williams would be nice to have right now.

I think we were premature in shelfing Rachal. He walked out but only for an evening. The guy is high strung which is good. I think the benefit of the doubt to let him calm down for an evening would have kept him on the roster. I am in no way condoning what he did (walking out), and no doubt he deserved to be punished, but honestly, if the Ts stunk as bad as they did and they keep Webb in and bench me, guess what? I'm going to be pissed to. He realized it pretty quick and came back. I don't think in this instance the pumishment meets the crime but that's just me and it's also tempered by us needing him right now.

I wonder if they bring Chris Riley up or do they go looking to see what is out there? Jake Scott according to Walterfootball is still out there, supposedly a good pass protecting Guard. Put him on the Left?

I agree. Rachal is a hothead and was wrong. So was Tice for benching him in the first place when the OTs were 90% of the problem vs SF. Cooler heads couldn't have prevailed? Really??? He came back the next day. Should have made him issue a written statement apologizing and then kissed and made up. We could use the guy--he's the best LG we have/had. Could have always let him go in the offseason if his emotional issues were such a problem. Couldn't wait 2 more months???

Wouldn't it be something if with everything that has happen we put a line together where we have 4 real good O linemen playing in the next 5 weeks and into the post season, yes I left Webb out even I can't dream that much.

Our depth is basically gone now too. Any more injuries and we could have a guy fresh off the practice squad playing. Playing OL at the NFL level is a lot more challenging than most fans realize. That's one reason why it is so hard to get a solid OL guy in the NFL. Even guys who were absolute studs in college, often are busts at the NFL level. It's not just big fat guys thumping on each other. OL players test out as some of the most intelligent players at any NFL position (I believe they average 2nd highest on the Wonderlic, if memory serves me right).

I'm not saying we're screwed for the season. But it's not going to be a situation where you throw anyone into the fray and have a decent oline.

If Webb turns out to be the worst of the lot, after we patch the oline up, then we're sitting pretty. But don't count on that happening.

On one of the radio shows they were talking about how Tice was on Carimi leaning to far forward and this could possibly have Carimi over-compensating and leaning back to far (this is the reason for him being pushed backwards).
