Well except that at this point he well could end up starting; that's how decimated w/inj's are OL has right now. Chilo/Louis IR, Spencer hurt, CWill gone, that's a healthy amount of losses for any position.

Not sure, but he has to clear waivers. With our position, he might not slip to us

Might also be looking at another OL, or another position all together. I haven't heard that Forte is cleared to play, they might look to bring in antoher RB.

We better get somthing together PRONTO and be prepared to face Seattle at home.
This GODDAMN musical chairs at OFFENSIVE LINE is getting OLD again.
I thought for sure Emery was going to at least make an attempt to fix this.
Look at FRISCO's OL. THATS what you want !

I was thinking they would drop big Toe. Okoye's knee might have had something to do with it. Damn, I liked him.

Gurode = Spencer with more miles on him and just over the edge of retirement because he didn't have it anymore. Better than a rookie with no NFL starting experience but not much can be expected of him. His career is over.
The injury to Louis is a real blow. He was not only our best lineman but he was playing at a Pro Bowl level. Gurode won't even come close to that. It looks like Spencer is gonna be out too so this was purely a desperation move.
All of this points to the incredibly poor handling to the OLine personnel this year but then that's hardly earth shaking news. We shoot ourselves in the foot every year when it comes to that. Last year it was the QB position and this year it's the line.
All four OGs we had on the roster at the start of the year are now lost. Four guys with at least a couple of years or more of experience as starting lineman. On top of that Sunday we started two OTs who can barely hold their own at this level. Lovie and Tice created this mess way back in camp when they decided CWill was no longer their starting LG even though he'd graded out pretty well there last year.
If this team misses the playoffs again because of injury problems I don't think you let those guys off the hook. They shoved CWill out the door to sign STeams help and he was the only guy on the team who'd proven that he could handle LG. Rachal left over being benched for a guy who'd already proven he couldn't and now that guy gets injured too.
You all can say it's just bad luck but to me it's just one more day in the life of the "clusterfuck" of an offense they're trying to run. Any good team is gonna eat that line alive and most of the bad ones will at least cause serous struggles. Get out your bowls of popcorn and Xanax this should be real fun to watch. We'll be lucky if Cutler doesn't end up on the IR too.
I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.

Soul, don't let them off the hook, last year was the OL also...and the year before that....and so on and so on.

FYI Gurode was coming back from injury and wasn't 100% last year with the Ravens. He tried to come back too soon. He says he is now 100% so we will see if he can contribute.

I watched Gurode play a little last year with the Ravens, he is servicable.
