MP, Rieff just got his chance to start for the lions a few weeks ago and he's done pretty well since; don't know about the others though.

I think some of you have forgot that Emery wasn't here much before the draft and had to take the coaches word for what we needed. Now that he has been here all year I think he will decide what we need and not have to depend on the coaches word. The biggest think Emery was wrong about was depending on the coaches to know the teams true needs, in other words depending Lovie and Tice to know the Offense needed, some of the needs they told him were right, it's clear they were wrong on the O line needs.

JJ i'm not forgetting that he was taking the Tice/Lovie's word on the OL; although I'd be stunned if anyone that was in the NLF in any shape way or form wasn't aware of the dire straits of the Bears OL; it was one of the worst in the leagues 2 or 3 years running. So maybe he should have taken all of that w/a grain of salt? It's really not that hard to figure out when your QB is getting sacked at nearly a higher rate then any other qb(not the highest) that the OL might be an issue. All we can really hope is that he no longer holds any trust in those same people.

But given the fact that he took Shea over Whitley and Chandler shows he was proven wrong; although like I said, Reiff is holding his own in Det now that he's gotten his chance. By the smartest guy in the room; I'm pointing to how happy he was when in the shriner game shea played LB and not DE "...to keep our secret safe..." Well I think there is a reason it was safe, the other DE's looked to be taken in the mid/late 1st are both having better years, and everyone else thought he'd be a better OLB. I'm never a fan of the GM over thinking it; or thinking they are smarter then everyone else; it's what got JA in trouble so often.
