The Chicago Bears signed guard/center Andre Gurode on Tuesday after waiving defensive tackle Amobi Okoye, the team announced.
The Bears lost guard Lance Louis for the season with a knee injury after a hit from the Minnesota Vikings' Jared Allen on Sunday.
Gurode went to five straight Pro Bowls from 2006-10 as the Dallas Cowboys center, but he was not playing with a team this season before signing with the Bears.
The Bears also signed offensive lineman Derek Dennis and receiver Dale Moss to the practice squad.
The Bears also worked out linebacker Aaron Curry, according to a source familiar with the situation.
Hub A likes the idea of brining in Aaron Curry, although it hasn't happened yet.

Banged up in a 28-10 victory over the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday at Soldier Field, the Chicago Bears spent Tuesday examining options to cover their injuries and signed veteran offensive lineman Andre Gurode.
Gurode, a five-time Pro Bowl selection as a center for the Dallas Cowboys, will help fill a void on the line as right guard Lance Louis was lost for the season with a torn ACL in his left knee in the victory.
Guard Chris Spencer also suffered a left knee injury and his availability this week is unknown. The injuries forced the Bears to move benched right tackle Gabe Carimi to guard in the game.
Gurode was part of a crowded tryout at Halas Hall. An NFL source said Lonnie Edwards, Robert Griffin and Derek Dennis, all interior offensive linemen, were given tryouts. The Bears also put linebacker Aaron Curry, a former first-round draft pick, through a tryout along with wide receiver Dale Moss.
Gurode, 33, has 133 career starts and played in 13 games for the Baltimore Ravens last season, making five starts. At the minimum, he will provide some depth for the stretch run as the Bears also lost guard Chilo Rachal last week when he left the team and was ultimately placed on the reserve/non-football injury list.
To make room for Gurode, the Bears placed defensive tackle Amobi Okoye on waivers. Okoye was inactive for four of the last five games, passed by Nate Collins on the depth chart. The Bears signed him just before the start of the season after the Buccaneers had released him. Okoye made four tackles and had one sack in six games.
The Bears signed Moss, an undrafted rookie free agent from South Dakota State, to the practice squad. Wide receiver Raymond Radway and guard Chris Riley were released from the practice squad.
SO this guy goes to 5 straight pro bowls? Cant be that bad... maybe lost a step but so has j'marcus. (shoe reference hahah)
Well lets just hope he's not the next Orlando Pace, gotta be a reason he's not on a team if he's got anything left in the tank.
can you mere this and the one I made? no reason to have two different conversations about the same thing.
