Cutler is one gutsy guy. He's played behind the worst oline in the NFL 2 of the past 3 years in Chicago (the other year we were rated #31.....not dead last, but next to dead last in the entire NFL).
And he still wants to stay here in Chicago. Gotta like that. He's definitely more of a "Grabowski" guy. Peyton Manning would be wetting himself behind our "so called" oline. His little pretzel neck wouldn't last one quarter of one game here.
And I'll bet Peyton wouldn't tie Webb's shoes as well as Jay either. On a side note, I'm bettin' Webb will finally learn to tie his own shoes by the end of this 3rd season here. I know he's been tryin' real hard.

Henry no there really isn't a possibility we will get him. He has to clear waivers, and there is enough need for a pass rushing DE that someone w/a worse record will pick him up. Like last year when 3 or 4 teams were ahead of us for Orton; 'member? And Orton wasn't 1/2 the player at his position that Babin is at his; yet you really think we have the possibility of getting him?
Besides we've already filled that spot earlier today. Now Bears putting in for him is one thing, but there is no real chance of them actually getting him.

To be fair though; for how tight of a ship Peyton runs, I doubt his shoelace even comes untied. Peyton is a tyrant to the littlist detail.

But that's the point. Babin is not an upgrade over Izzy and Wootton. Jason Babin has been a decent player throughout his career and he parlayed one big season right before he hit FA into a big time contract offer from Philly.
We looked at him when he was a FA but he went where the $$$ was, got is mega deal, and has been playing at a lesser level ever since. Not only don't we need him but we have a rookie on the roster who is almost exactly the same size as Jason Babin and McClellin will give you 110% effort on every snap he plays. McClellin is a playmaker whereas Babin is not much more than an undersized pass rusher who doesn't play the run all that well.
We need to stick with developing McClellin and Wootton. Those guys are the future DEs around here. Babin isn't. He might help for a game or two but what little cap room we have left for replacements needs to be spent solving the holes in the OLine not the DLine where there really aren't any.
We've lost four starting OGs since September and Babin can't play OG or OT. That's where we need help.

That's absolutely true. It's how a guy who was a 5-6 type sack guy his whole career manged to get 12.5 in one year right before he hit FA. He had one good year in Philly and is right back to his average type year again. He's no dummy. Sacks are what get you the big $$$$ and he got it but at 32 his numbers are declining again.
McClellin is a similar size DE with a much higher motor and he plays the run far better than Babin. Spending $$$ on Babin would be a mistake.

except there is no reason to believe Shea will ever be Babin; other then that I agree w/Soul on this one 100%.

Poor bastard... Jacksonville... his situation went from bad to worse.

Please tell me again how my reasoning was off? Jag's claimed him. Again it was a pointless debate b/c we never stood a chance of getting him b/c of the wiaver order.

If you thought Babin was a possibility for the Bears, you're smoking crack.
LOL, he didn't even make it past the second team...
