It is only a classic move if we burn one of our future high draft picks to land him.

We'll never know brother. Jax was second in line based on their 2012 record to date. Only KC was ahead of them and they passed. Not worth the worry or even the amount of attention this thread got. We didn't get him and we really didn't need him either.

Well, the whole instance may not be a lost cause I still see potential for an argument here.

And he still wants to stay here in Chicago. Gotta like that. He's definitely more of a "Grabowski" guy. Peyton Manning would be wetting himself behind our "so called" oline. His little pretzel neck wouldn't last one quarter of one game here.
And I'll bet Peyton wouldn't tie Webb's shoes as well as Jay either. On a side note, I'm bettin' Webb will finally learn to tie his own shoes by the end of this 3rd season here. I know he's been tryin' real hard.
We were laughing when JC did that. The joke was he tied Webbs shoes together so at worse, he fell infront of his ,just to slow him down some. lol

You're right. McClellin will be much, much better.
Throughout his career Babin has only averaged 5.35 sacks per year. About the same amount he has this year to date and Philly is calling him a failure. Why? It's about an average year for him. He's just not earning that massive paycheck of his is all.
He had one pretty good year in Tennessee when he got 12.5 for the year and parlayed that into a big contract from Philly where he paired with his former coach and he gives them 18 sacks in 2011. His ONE great year! This year Philly goes nowhere and he cruises to save himself only that doesn't work and he gets cut then signs with Jax for far less money I'm sure. Our guys don't even take plays off let alone a whole season.
In the four years before he had that one big year with the Titans he was injured some, played mainly as a 3rd down rusher, and had a grand total of 4.5 sacks in four years! Prior to that his best years were in Houston but he still never had more than 5 sacks in any of those years.
Take out that one big year everyone is looking at while salivating over the guy and he's average 3.9 sacks per year for his entire career. Yeah, he's a real stud pass rusher type isn't he and on top of that he doesn't play the run well at all.
Give me McClellin, his 3 sacks, numerous pressures, his 4 TFLs, playing part time, his rookie paycheck and his upside any day. Hell, give me Izzy and Wootton and their 9.5 combined sacks, fumbles caused, and 27 combined solo tackles too. There's your two starting LDEs. Anyone think Babin is better than that right now?
Anyone who thought Babin is better than the guys we have is 100% crazy.

So we don't get to give Babin his TFL and pressures, only his sacks; but we get to give Shea those? what about Babin's 63 solo tackles his rookie year? those don't count; just sacks and stuffs? What about is 2 fumble recovery's, 7 stuffs, and 4 passes deflected; all more then what Shea is even projected to do. Maybe if Lovie trusted him not to get washed out of run plays or not get muscled up by DE's he's get to play more and things might be different, but Shea's not good enough to be on the field more so we'll never know.
So far there is nothing Shea has shown that he will be better then Babin based on both their careers; other then one was capable of far more playing time their rookie year then the other. Maybe Shea's "high motor" will allow him to hit he weight room and get bigger w/out losing that speed, we can only hope b/c right now he's looking more like Bauzine or Dusty D then he is Babin. We can only hope that by his 3rd or 4th year something clicks and he becomes Cory Wooton. But right now he's not even as good as Whtney M, let alone Chandler Jones; and Whitney's not starting either.
