Babin?
While I think there is no way that Babin clears waivers, if he did, do you think Emery would be able to pull off getting him?
He is a 4-3 only type of guy, so he would be a good fit and an upgrade over everyone but Peppers.
Babin and the entire Eagles team is having a down year. I would not be surprised if he would thrive with Chicago.
I know Pipe dream because there are a ton of teams that need a quality DE and he will not clear waivers.

Waivers go in reverse standing order.
And no, Bears don't need him.

I think we are pretty solid at DE, why go after this guy? Hell we were solid at the position before the draft, and went after another one in round 1. Might be looking at a former early pick at the LB position named Curry...i posted it in the OL thread.

I like the guy, but pretty rich contract at his age. Not sure it is a good deal for us.

Briggs tweeted Curry has big knee problems.

I could see us getting an eventual replacement for Pep or perhaps a stop-gap but Babin probably wouldn't be all that cheap. Surprised he got waived. Think I would go LB,CB,then perhaps DE (this is ALL after drafting something with the word tackle, guard or center).
Arguing on the internet is like winning the special olympics, even if you win your still messed up.

I agree. Another pass rusher is not what we need right now. McClellin is a much younger version of Babin and we can use him more effectively in this defense. There's no way he'd be an upgrade over the guys we have now. Izzy is having one of the best years of his career and Wootton is showing up with all of the tools we were after whe we drafted him.
We don't need Babin we need pass blockers and there ain't none to be had save the ancient and over the hill or the barrel scrapings cut by other teams. We just cut Okoye so why would we add another DLineman when the need is obvious for blockers.
I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.

Getting Babin definitely would have been a classic JA move.

use Peppers or Izzy more as DT in passing situations and sign Babin if he clears waivers to end the season in Chicago. Would be a win win situation.
