need a D that can stop the opponent when they don't force a turnover
Once again it got proven that our coaches can't change tactic doing the game.. In the last quarter it was either Lynch or Willson that ran the ball, and while we did put presure on Willson he would simple just run out of the pocket and get another first down, this happened serveral times, how come they didn't just take one guy a made him shadow Willson. The last two drives and the OT drive from them was nothing other than that. How hard was it to take a fucking timeout and come up with an idea to try and stop Willson from running to first downs.
Our backup Oline didn't do to bad I expected alot more presure and sacks from the Seahawks.
Hell I can't belive him saying this put Mike Tice please call Mike Martz and ask him to get some of the game plans that would involed Matt Forte in the passing game. We used it once and it was a TD.. It worked brilliant last year fucking use it this year.
Cutler can actually slide..
Oh can please for the sake of god if you are 4&inchs kick the FG and get 3 points on the board. It were early in the game and we weren't under any presure why the hell wouldn't you take 3 "free" points..
The Reason I say potential is look at Cam Newton but then again Wilson shows better leadership abilities then Cam Newton.
Regarding Bennett we needed that #2 WR and I was hoping he stepped up. With that being said my old man who is a Slacks fan said "I could have caught that."
I agree we should be able to put up more points. But I do blame the Defense more then the Offense for this lost they were out played. I haven't looked but I am sure Wilson either had more yards rushing then either of our RBs or damn close. But the real blame for this lose falls totally on Lovie, 4th and one sure as a fan I love to see us go for it but not with a patched up O line, that has 3 three plays with a total of l start between all of them in game at the position their playing. And to give the Hawks the ball first because they had been of the field for a 12 play drive before the end of the game, dame our Defense was out there for those 12 plays also. This goes back to the Lovie thinking the Defense is first and can do it all. Cutler and Marshall both had a damn good game, put the damn ball in hands of the players that can win the game. Lovie who the hell is the best 4th Qrt, QB in the NFL, let me help you dumbass it Jay Cutler.
JJ I agree w/all that. The D was the bigger issue; but that was easy to see, but if this O could stay on the field and score more, the D faultering, and having a down game wouldn't equate to an automatic loss like it seems to do. I didn't see the coin toss for OT, I would have flipped if we hadn't taken the ball. That is a horrible choice by Lovie; and along w/that 4th and 1, you do have to place a lot of the blame on the coaching staff also.
Something Mike and Mike pointed out and seems to be valid. This D can no longer contain running qb's anymore; Kapernick rocked us, and now Wilson tore us up. This D is not capable of keeping containment like they used to.
What have we learned...?? hmmmmm
1. The Defense started strong but have fizzled out, whether the offense is out there or not for half the game the defense needs more rest or a spark to get them back to what they were before the Houston and SF game
2. We are in NEED OF ANOTHER WR, lets call (TO, Deion Branch, or Ocho) We need to get someone else on the other side of Marshall to draw the attention as well. WE NEED SOMEONE NOW!
3. With a revamped Offensive line weve gone from awesome run blocking to perfect pass blocking but have show how forgot to run block (im all for tis favoring Cutler)
4. Maybe they need to take a break form pad practice
The coin flip went to the seahawks. They called tails, and the coin landed that way. The commentator said at the time of the flip, "The Seahawks may well have just won the game."
As an aside, it was obvious that the defense was gassed (tired). When Seattle decided it was going for the win, I was screaming at my TV in an effort to get Lovie to be smart enough to take a timeout to give the defense a chance to get its wind back. It may well not have helped, but it was the only thing the he could have done to help the situation. I tend to be a bit pro-Lovie but I don't think he did everything he could.
I also learned that we need 2 healthy WR's that #6 trusts in the game to be as effective as we'd like.
